Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan is the guy who took off in New York heading for California and he landed in Ireland. Trump took off from Promises, USA heading for limited government and he landed in Big Government, USA. I just cannot see how hiring more parasites shrinks the government no matter how they spin it:
I am not sure President Trump understands that he cannot drain the swamp until he first dries up that cesspool where media and education industries parasites thrive. The only way he can do it is to stop flushing tax dollars into the cesspool.
It took Trump less than 90 days to roll over for the parasite class on the domestic front. I will run with the big dog for a while longer, but I must admit that smelling the United Nations in the shadows has made me as skittish as a Mexican jumping bean:
There is not a thing wrong with bombing the piss out of Iran and North Korea with or without Congress’ approval, but Syria’s civil war is none of Trump’s business:
Obama/Clinton/Kerry all but invited the Russians into Syria. Trump would be a fool to clean up their mess. Instead of lining up with Putin to fight ISIS the best thing Trump can do is to work Syria into another Afghanistan-type disaster for Russia that it was for the Soviet Union. If nothing else, Trump will keep the CIA busy doing something useful:
WASHINGTON—The administration plans to lift the federal hiring freeze that has been in place for the past three months but will continue its push to restructure and downsize the federal government, seen as a central piece of President Donald Trump’s pledge to “drain the swamp.”
Mr. Mulvaney said the federal government would lift the hiring freeze on Wednesday. Agencies will be able to hire again, but will be required to submit plans for making themselves leaner. Some, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, will do so in the knowledge that Mr. Mulvaney and his former colleagues in the House of Representatives are eager to restrict their budget.

Fortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down loyalty oaths as a condition of employment in 1964.
Today we’re seeing the re-emergence of the mentality that gave us loyalty oaths, in the form of mandating that faculty members write “diversity statements,” especially as part of hiring and promotion procedures. They are forced to pledge allegiance to the college’s diversity agenda.

Trump “will not stop here,” warned U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley on Sunday. “If he needs to do more, he will.”
If Trump fails to back up Haley’s threat, the hawks now cheering him on will begin deriding him as “Donald Obama.”

There is not a thing wrong with bombing the piss out of Iran and North Korea with or without Congress’ approval, but Syria’s civil war is none of Trump’s business:
Trump’s missile attack was unconstitutional. Assad had not attacked or threatened us, and Congress, which alone has the power to authorize war on Syria, has never done so.

If nothing else, Trump will keep the CIA busy doing something useful:
More than eight years after they intervened in Afghanistan to support the procommunist government, Soviet troops begin their withdrawal. The event marked the beginning of the end to a long, bloody, and fruitless Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.
