Does the U.S. have any allies in the Obama era?

France is an ally but aside from saying " you go girl" they are unwilling to do anything.

Yes we really needed some of those Companies doing logistics work

30 Countries supported Bush, how many support Obama?

Obama is weak.

The world doesn't respect weakness!

Somebody should explain that fact to him!

Not blowing up Syria is wise, not weak.
Whom and what would you have Obama blow up in Syria to solve the problem?

9/11 was a completely different ballgame...so America's true allies rushed to assist in any way possbile.

Sometimes it's tough being the big boss...everyone wanting you to say and do something to solve all the world's problems.
No doubt there are some in Washington who were/are urging him to attack Syria...Bill Clinton for example...reportedly called him a 'pussy' for not acting.

Multi-National Force ? Iraq - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Any other questions?

Wow that is quite an impressive fighting force with most sending less than a Bn

Who is missing from that list? Canada? used to be our best ally
, France, Germany........you know, some of the biggest armies in the world

Where are they today?

It couldn't have anything to do with Obama selling out our European allies Poland and the Czech Republic to Russia:

The Obama administration will scrap the controversial missile defense shield program in Eastern Europe, a senior administration official confirmed to CNN Thursday.

<SNIP>

Poland and the Czech Republic had based much of their future security policy on getting the missile defenses from the United States. The countries share deep concerns of a future military threat from the east -- namely, Russia -- and may now look for other defense assurances from their NATO allies.

U.S. scraps missile defense shield plans - CNN.com

Lucky for them, they weren't blindsided by the decision, as Obama let it slip on an open mike before the election:
President Obama found his private moment of political candor caught by a live microphone on Monday as he told President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia that he would have “more flexibility” to negotiate on the delicate issue of missile defense after the November election, which Mr. Obama apparently feels confident he will win.

It just keeps getting worse. The guy is a total disaster and a clear and present danger to the survival of the USA.

Maybe Biden will follow through with his threat and tell the house to start impeachment proceedings.

Well, that's good to hear, either way.

I'm tired of Obama emasculating us. If anyone will still stand by us, I'm grateful to them. There is still the problem of Obama's lack of resolve to do anything effective. Is it better to do nothing and not actively create enemies, or to make a token effort because the U.S. has to take some kind of stand? I'm pissed that Obama has already said so much is off the table. But if the U.S. does nothing, that would be the worst of all. So vive la France.

In this case, IMHO, we are better off doing nothing.

Obama should make a face saving speech and try to pivot to something else as quickly as possible.

.....didn't Obama said he will do only something "symbolic"? Whatever that means....like...throwing some "symbolic" cruise missiles.....
What sort of war is that? I have never heard of something like that in my whole life!

It is absolutely ridiculous.

We need to ask two questions.

What is the risk?

What is the benefit?

The risk is possible all out war in the middle east.

The benefit is there is a possibility that a limited "symbolic" U.S. strike may deter future chemical weapon usage.

You put one of those two results on each side of the scale, and the result is apparent.

It is absolute foolishness to wager such a massive risk against such a meager benefit.

reminds me of the discussion when Kennedy and Johnson were getting american kids killed for nothing in viet nam.

or the ones bush and obama are getting killed in iraq and afghanistan.

Libya crisis: Britain, France and US prepare for air strikes against Gaddafi

#####

Frenchie not stoopid...he looks at 'Syria' and baulks at blowing it up in any way.

So? One has no bearing on the other. Libya supplies almost all the oil they use. The Syrians well they're still sore over lhe whole lost colonial empire thing.

Many of the leaks about U.S. strike plans for Syria, a copious flow of surprisingly specific information on ship dispositions and possible targets, have been authorized as a way for President Obama to signal the limited scope of operations to friends and foes.

But a number of leaks have been decidedly unauthorized -- and, according to Obama administration sources, likely emanating from a Pentagon bureaucracy less enthusiastic about the prospect of an attack than, say, the State Department, National Security Council or Obama himself.

"Deeply unhelpful," was how one West Winger described the drip-drip of doubt.

"They need to shut the f--k up," said a former administration official. "It's embarrassing. Who ever heard this much talk before an attack? It's bizarre."

White House peeved at Pentagon leaks - POLITICO.com

A stunning lack of domestic allies as well...

How long will it take for the U.S. to recover from Obama's "leadership" on the world stage?

After British Vote, Unusual Isolation for U.S. on Syria

Obozo has, in some form or another in the last 5 years, insulted all of our allies. Maybe the next President will be able to repair the damage quickly, because of one simple thing: He/She is not Obozo. Or maybe it'll take years. Either way, we are now a laughing stock on the world stage thanks to Bozo the Prez.
