Does the U.S. have any allies in the Obama era?

Yes. Latvia, Estonia and I forgetwhothehellthatotheronewas. They were all at the WH today.

Didn't I say this was going to happen a year ago? I called it right on the button.

There are no allies. France is not an ally. France has agreed to stand at the sidelines and silently cheer.

Why don't we have allies?

Because no one believes that Assad really used those chemical weapons.

Well France kind of told us to go get fucked before the Iraq war to be fair.

France, the other great republic, has been our best ally over 200 years, and with Iraq, telling us to have some patience. Stupidest war ever....

The Labour party in the UK is sick to death of our BS under Booosh, takes time to fix that- let's see what the UN inspectors say, ADHD hater dupes.

No, he offended everyone one them and driven them away..

but hey, He is the superman with a peace prize dangling from his neck, who needs allies

No, but he does not care about allies.

it was simply a talking point of lying left during Bush times.

In reality left never cared about allies or the image of the world.

In all honesty, I do not think we should care about the "image".

Allies is a different issue.

How long will it take for the U.S. to recover from Obama's "leadership" on the world stage?

After British Vote, Unusual Isolation for U.S. on Syria

America has allies, it's just that they think invading/attacking Syria is a bad idea.

Obama's leadership on the world stage has been good in many regards, ...not on Syria, Egypt and Libya ...and apologising the "Muslim world" all the time though.

America has allies in the Obama era.
His sending back to Britain the bust of Winston Churchill that was in the Oval office when he was elected [because he seemingly hates "the British"] wasn't a very good idea though.
He probably should've just stored it away out of sight somewhere...in the name of 'International diplomacy".

He spoke very well when he addresssed the Australian parliament.
Very well.

Tony Abbott, hopefully Prime Minister after the Sept 7 2013 election...speaks at 7min 29 secs along...about being an ally. [click on and drag video timer].

Then President Obama speaks.

US President Barack Obama has declared the Asia-Pacific region his nation's top priority in an address to a special sitting of Australia's Federal Parliament.

Pine Gap - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pine Gap is the commonly used name for a satellite tracking station approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south-west of the town of Alice Springs in the centre of Australia which is operated by both Australia and the United States.

The facility consists of a large computer complex with 14 radomes protecting antennae[2] and has over 800 employees.[3] A long-term NSA employee at Pine Gap, David Rosenberg, has suggested that the CIA runs the facility.[4]:pp 45-46[5]

The location is strategically significant because it controls America's spy satellites as they pass over the one third of the globe which includes China, parts of Russia and Middle East oil fields.[2] Central Australia was chosen because it was too remote for spy ships passing in international waters to intercept the signal.[4]:p xxi

Hey, Obama has the Socialist government in France on his side...or maybe we are on their side...it's hard to tell.

Obama Left With France as Ally in Syria Fight - Bloomberg

Well, that's good to hear, either way.

I'm tired of Obama emasculating us. If anyone will still stand by us, I'm grateful to them. There is still the problem of Obama's lack of resolve to do anything effective. Is it better to do nothing and not actively create enemies, or to make a token effort because the U.S. has to take some kind of stand? I'm pissed that Obama has already said so much is off the table. But if the U.S. does nothing, that would be the worst of all. So vive la France.

In this case, IMHO, we are better off doing nothing.

Obama should make a face saving speech and try to pivot to something else as quickly as possible.

.....didn't Obama said he will do only something "symbolic"? Whatever that means....like...throwing some "symbolic" cruise missiles.....
What sort of war is that? I have never heard of something like that in my whole life!
