There is a scale to trustworthiness. You can't elevate WND by attempting to compare them to Huffpo for instance.

WND is extreme and Rightwing.

and huff is extreme and left wing. BFD

Oh of course.. :cuckoo:

If you could take the blinkers off and just look logically at both sites, you might understand that your opinion is formed by your political bias.

For a start, comparing HuffPuff to WND is comparing apples to oranges. Both fruit, but entirely different. As I said, the HuffPuff is a clearing house, WND isn't. And headlines are written to grab a readers attention - they often bear no real relation to the article following the headline... all news orgs do that to some extent. You notice it more from the perspective you disagree with and less so from those you do agree with. That's why critical thinking is quite important.

You mean blinders? You fence sitters slay me, always popping in with your "they all do it" bullshit. You just like to sit around in the middle taking potshots at everyone.

Why not? That way you can never be wrong.

WND is an extremist rightwing rag and in no way compares to mainstream media. Mainstream may be wrong and they can be right but they don't make shit up like WND does.

I don't fence sit, Sarah. I am absolutely unashamedly right wing. What I don't do is follow any media outlet or support one media outlet over another. That's not 'fence sitting', it's intelligence. And they do all do it.

WND is not 'extremist'... any more than the HuffPuff is 'extremist'. Extremist is a little 'throw away' word that used to have some actual meaning, much like 'racist'.... but, fools who can't tell the difference between disagreement and 'hatred' or what is or is not 'hate speech', or what is or is not 'incitement'.... in short, people like you.... you use it to label anything you don't like. It's pathetic.

What is the HuffPo putting out on a regular basis that is on par with the birfer stories WND runs all the time?

The "truth" is subjective these days. You can change the entire focus of a story by withholding facts and you can't be accused of lying. You can create a headline that is not accurate and still be technically "truthful". Every article disguised as news is in reality an op-ed. By the time it goes through the blogosphere filter the "truth" might not be recognizable anymore.

- "To me, truth is not some vague, foggy notion. The truth is what is real. And also what is unreal. Fiction and fact and everything in between, plus some things I can't remember, all rolled up into this one big "thing." This is truth, to me." - Jack Handey

I always double check any stories with my 'secret source'...

seems a lot of people are using that method these days

Its generally more reliable and trustworthy than the media.

True, but that is not saying much.

One n00b here seems to think we should.

If you want to see where the info is posted and the issue covered in correct detail by someone who doesn't cut lawns for a living, go to World Net Daily that has a reserved seat at all White House press briefings,

Everyone, Toro is not telling you the truth. Go to the world net daily links if you're interested in this story. No one is more dedicated to it than they are, and they're a real operation, not Skippy Toro, the Message Board Wonder.

Do you trust WorldNetDaily to tell you the truth?

I trust them to provide a conservative perspective on the news much like I trust the Huffington Post or Media Matters to provide a liberal perspective.

I also trust WND to keep a blind eye toward any reality or common sense that contradicts their political positions much like the Huffington Post and Media matters.

It is key to understand the sources we use people ;).

What is the HuffPo putting out on a regular basis that is on par with the birfer stories WND runs all the time?

Go to their site (Huffingtonpost.com) and put "Tea Party" into the search.

There is enough bullshit and lies in H.P.'s reporting about and on the teaparties and teapartiers to compete with the birther idiots on WND.

Sorry, they do not "all" do what WND does and when you say anything like that it sincerely is not intelligent..

What they say is true about the teaparty.

Go to WND and you get birther bullshit. They are extreme and they make up news. Huffpo nor any other credible source creates news.

What they say about the TEA party is bullshit. That you believe it, makes the HuffPuff responsible for presenting lies as fact.... and that you accept it as fact is shameful. The HuffPuff is about as credible as getting news from a fucking ouija board.

Yep, they do. The HuffPuff hides its bullshit by acting as a clearing site for legitimate news. But that is not theirs... it belongs to others.... they use that legitimate news to provide an outlet for their own (unpaid) bullshit blogs. You get what you pay for. They pay nothing. They get nothing.

WND is extreme and Rightwing.
and huffy puffy post is extreme and leftwing

Certainly, WND is rightwing. Certainly, the HuffPuff is leftwing. I don't think either are 'extreme'. Unless we are using the word 'extreme' now to describe anything we disagree with..... like Joke Dorkey does.

I think people need to separate the "opinions" presented from the "facts" presented. While Huffington Post has a pov, I am still waiting for someone to prove what they "lied" about...

unlike fauxnews and the loony toons at wnd.

And although they are a news source, they can all be guilty of innacuracies but not nearly as blatent, extreme and often as WND, or Faux.
