I think both candidates missed some opportunities but Hillary scored more direct hits . The problem for Trump is that he can't beat Hillary on policy and will be forced to go onto the attack and become more personal in the next debate which is exactly what Clinton wants. I was surprised at Trumps composure during the first half of the debate but he began to unravel in the second half . It's very unlikely that committed supporters will be questioning their vote after this but for undecideds this looked like a terrible night for Trump. What he had to do was to make voters feel comfortable that he could handle the Presidency, his big issue is that people feel the real Trump is the one that fell apart in the second part of the debate not the one desperately trying to look composed at the start.

In all seriousness, I just went over the debate on You Tube and the MSM narrative that The Donald won the first half but Crooked Hillary came on in the second half was a planned out narrative they worked out for several weeks.
