I assert the accurate question would be did all human primates evolve to be equal?

The straight answer if fuck no.

That is why we, like other primates are subject to dominance hierarchies, and no matter what form of government, fascist, communist, socialist, anarchistic, corporate, democratic, one finds dominance hierarchies.

Why?

Because I keep telling you people despite our nice constitutions and philosophical pretensions, we are really not that far down from the trees.

Hell, I prefer the view up there.

Sorry justice has nothing to do with protecting the weak merely punishing the guilty. If you spend too much time protecting the weak they never become strong.

The guilty are 'punished' to dissuade them form acting against the weak. Law (like many forms of government) is an attempt by the weak to act as a collective to defend themselves against the strong.
 
You all read too much into this.....this is the reason why this country is so fucked up right now.

"All men are created equal" Let's look at this. The way I read this is that all men have the same opportunity as the person next to them regardless of social standing.

It's up to you to make your own opportunities in life and realize your own interpretation of the American dream.

Idealist bullshit. The poor man in the ghetto does not get to buy a degree and inherent the presidency like a Kennedy or a Bush.
 
not better than but also not equal to, I am not equal to a rockefeller or any other wealthy type person, they have doors open to them that are simply not open to me, and the bible and the constitution may state all men are created equal but both condoned slavery at the time they were written so the statement in both were hypocritical at best.

From the very beginning of mankind. There have always been slaves of some sort, and always will be.
Do I think it is wrong? Yes. THAT is one reason I believe all are created equal.

are all men created equal? no,some are gifted with talents unattainable by others, some are born with advantages others are not, a person may love basketball and put their whole heart and effort into the game but if they are only 4 foot 8 they have not been created equal to the task as a 6 foot 9 guy would be.

interesting thing about the founders and the all men are created equal thing, many of the founders who put forth that sentiment were slave owners, so it looks like they didnt exactly buy into that idea.

So we bring the Imperial FED in to make them all 'Equal',at the point of LAW and the GUN, eh noosey? Because we don't like it?

Interesting that you don't understand that the ONLY way the Founders could get this passed was to bow down to SLAVE OWNERS, lest the suppoort would be lost to beat King George, and Great Britian?

And it did go on 7 years AFTER we nailed the Brits on the battlefield before the Constitution was ratified.

Personally touchy about the slave issue. Interesting.
 
They are not created equal by God, or treated equally under the law.

Proof:

1. We add extra penalities for "hating" along with the crime.
2. Since justice is expensive, there is a two-tiered system in place.
3. We have entitlement laws in place to help the unequal parties. ie education.
4. As a society we over compensate physical abilities and under compensate the
mental.

People are not born equal in mind, body, or circumstance. Equality is the dream of the inferior (EG: the poor wish to be equal with the rich and I wish i were of equal physical fitness to a bodybuiler).

So you believe that some are created as ''better'' than others? How so? Who decides which is the better? Understand this thread is NOT talking about what we want and what we wish.
