a great example of arrogance is when the demparty keeps using "extreme" after his soundbite blunder.

it's hard for us to take anything he says as sincere, especially after calling the stewedress a bitch. he's a dick.

What part of a group of people deciding on a label that best describes their political opponents is "Arrogance", if it's not indicating that said opponents are somehow inferior?

and

How does this differ from the Republicans calling Democrats "Socialists", "Fascists", etc, etc, except by being less hyperbolic?

New York consistently sends among the worst Senators to DC. The only ones I can think of as bad off the top of my head are Illinois, California, Michigan and Maryland.

Whereas IMHO, the "worst Senators" are those from Alaska, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. If you don't live in the state in question, however, it's really none of your business.

All relative... taxes are low, cost of living is low, unemployment is low..

And how well can one live on $100k per year in NY? You can live quite well down here.

BTW.. your state is bankrupt and is losing it's wealthier citizens in droves.

Actually, we just balanced our budget, without raising our taxes. Read the news.

If he was a state senator I would agree with you. But when he votes, it affects everyone in the US.

Yeah, that whole allowing people's representatives from other regions of the country to vote really throws a monkey wrench in the works, doesn't it?

Damn representative government.

Does it really matter if you approve of him if you don't live in New York?
After all, it's New Yorkers like me he represents. It's not his job to be popular to everyone else.

Not what I'm saying, Vast. You asked and I highlited the question, Does it really matter if you approve of him if you don't live in New York?
It does matter for everyone at the federal level, their vote DOES affect us all.
I can't help if you asked a stupid question.

He absolutely is a liar. His preposterous statements and constant rewriting of history in Iraq and Afghanistan and constantly shifting positions which magically always serve the interest of the Democratic party over the truth are not only lies but shallow ones. If the media didn't have zero interest in going after Democratic boobs he'd be mocked like Palin. He's a liar and a fool.

Specific examples would be nice.

He took the lead on the rewriting the Democratic involvement in the Middle East wars. I oppose the wars, the Democrats opposed being out of power and used it as a lame lie that they had been lied to.

Agreed. Schumer was the DSCC chair so it was in his job description to monopolize the camera as it is w/ whomever is doing it now.

Charles Schumer was a media whore long before he was DSCC chair.

He was a media whore back when he was a 23 year old Assemblyman in the 70s.

This is bad how?

I want him in front of the cameras advocating for my state.

We get fucked enough.

Didn't say it was bad.

Just said he's a little goofy.

do you approve of chuck schumer's performance as senator ??

No.

In fact, I detest his politics and his camera-whore demeanor on all things.

He's a sanctimonious uber-liberal gasbag and he has the I.Q. of a jellyfish.

Plus he's kind of icky looking and smells bad.

Seriously though, I would give him huge props and accolades if he'd have the decency to step down. He sucks.

I am old enough to remember when a local deli/grocer owner added up your items on a brown paper bag with a pencil.....my mother would double check leo the del. owner, he had a habit of adding 5 cents here, 10 cents there to an item ....schumer reminds me of him, hes a skank. and for the record every party has them....

Better then the rest of the country.

OH THATS RIGHT.

OH THATS RIGHT... New York just closed it's state deficit, thanks to the work of our DEMOCRATIC governor. :clap2:

It had been "projected" to be 10 BILLION dollars. States Continue to Feel Recession

But upon releasing his budget plan, the Governor said, "It is a plan that reduces our state’s current year deficit without raising taxes." 2011 - 2012 Executive Budget | Governor Andrew M. Cuomo

REDUCING a deficit is NOT the same thing as "closing" it.

But it looks like the final version went beyond even the Governor's budget plan. The new Budget DID close the gap, fully, by the look of things. I have to look at the details again. If he and the comical NY State Legislature did that, then Cuomo gets some well deserved kudos.

Facts are facts. I don't like Cuomo. But I will admit that he at least crammed through a budget on time -- which is almost unheard of in this goofy State. Kudos on that. And even his original plan did TRY to attend to AT LEAST NARROWING the budget deficit, so kudos on that too.

Now that he did -- with the work of the NY Legislature -- fully close the budget deficit in NY State, kudos to all of them.

Yup. A Democrat Governing like a Conservative. ;) Maybe it is penance for what he did at HUD. Who knows!

He was smart. For instance, cutting so-called "State" funding to schools to the tune of 1.2 BILLION dollars sounds like he "hates children." Well, that's what many libs would say if the Governor doing it had come with an "(R)" after his name.

But the reality is: the local school district taxpayers are going to have to take up the slack. Instead of paying the STATE that portion of their income in taxes to the STATE, they will pay their respective school districts in the form of higher school tax rates, inevitably. It was a bit of a shell game.

But, it took that spending off of the STATE'S budget and that's the kind of initiative I actually don't mind seeing from a Governor, even a smarmy liberal Democrat Parody Governor. The taxpayers are still getting CREAMED of course.

The State outlays just went down, but the state income from its taxpayers did not. So when the hit comes, it will actually be a bit of a jolt to NY taxpayers. Pay the State, pay the County. Pay Sales Taxes. Pay the excise taxes on gasoline. Pay the towns/villages. Pay the water districts. Pay the school districts.

And then the libs wonder why businesses flee NY State.

What's the state income tax? Highest in the nation, isn't it?

Not even close. I believe Hawaii takes that honor, with a high-end tax bracket rate of a whopping 11%. New York is in the mid-8's for the highest bracket, and is beat by quite a large number of states for both average rate and top tax rate.

And the Headlines outta the State News Service seem to be lacking showing that Cuomo is denying NY State Children their due 24/7...what's UP wid dis obvious oversight?

Word, I'm with you. I have no problem with budget slicing, to tell you the truth.

What I do have a problem with, is that no-one is making the hard decisions, like cutting Medicare benefits for EVERYONE (not just people under 55), raising the retirement age for Social Security, and cutting the ridiculously bloated military budget, in this federal budget cutting process.

Instead, people are using budget cutting as an excuse to strike blows at their political opponents and cut only programs that their side doesn't like.

What gives Conservatives a monopoly on budget cutting? Bill Clinton wasn't a Conservative.

You can be a Liberal and still be in support of governing EFFECTIVELY and CHEAPLY.

No matter what conservatives say, it's not a Democratic mantra to just throw taxpayer money at problems.

I'm all for being fiscally conservative. You shouldn't be spending more then you take in. Neither should you be cutting revenue without proper justification.

That..had nothing to do with Schumer and everything to do with the "Heartland" minded Conservatives who believe the fly over states should have what amounts to 2 votes per person without paying for it.

You mean libs like Schumer didn't vote for all those welfare programs that you don't want people in the middle of the country to get?

The founding fathers are the ones who decided that each state would have two Senators. It appears you object to the Constitution. Nothing unusual for a lib.

Hilarious.

The Constitution was written by liberals and fought against, vehmently, by Conservatives.

They later went up against Washington during the Whiskey Rebellion, and again fought the Union and the Constitution during the Civil War..because they wanted to keep Human Beings as slaves.
