Do Republicans have a history of helping the American Middle Class?

I'm talking about the last 30 years.

Does anyone have any examples of really good GOP policies that helped a lot of regular Americans?

From the few Republicans who dared to comment, it looks like the answer is "no".

Do must Republicans feel this way:

Rottweiler commenting on Healthcare: That's exactly right. The American people don't deserve shit.

I think this kind of proves why the country gets so damaged when Republicans are in charge. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In the last 30 years? Tax cuts and the balance budget Republicans gave us. (Unfortunately briefly) That alone has done more for the nation than the party of slavery and segregation has ever done for this nation.

Democrats raised taxes under Clinton and that's why Republicans were voted into office. It was Democrats who balanced the budget. The deficit creating Bush Tax Cuts went mostly to the wealthy.

Look at how much went to just the top 1% alone.

Selfish, self centered, and greedy pretty well describes this batch of liberal/socialists. They cannot understand why the people who earn the most will benefit the most from any tax cuts. That is because they do not want to understand. Much like a six year old not understanding why that candy bar is not a good idea before supper.

They do not understand that the super wealthy, the 1%ers, make most of their money from capital gains, and consequently are little affected by income tax rates. They do not understand that income tax rates hit those getting rich the hardest, and yet, those are the same people they expect to create jobs for themselves and others.

All they understand, is that some people live high on the hog, and others are well off, while they are flipping burgers and just surviving. That is not fair, and that is all they care to know about the subject. Selfish, self centered, greedy little pigs that figure society owes them a better deal and they are out to collect.

First George W. Bush's SEC let Wall Street run a derivatives based Ponzi scheme that destroyed the world economy in 2008.

Then Republicans on the Supreme Court voted to allow unlimited secret campaign contributions in the Citizens United decision.

Then Republicans in Congress voted against infrastructure spending that would have lowered unemployment.

Then Republicans in the House shut down the government and threatened the country with default.

Why would anyone vote for a party that hates government and continually tries to damage our country?

Then why do Republicans only help the wealthy?

why are the 1% still getting tons of wealth?.....just asking....

Because Republicans still control the House and are blocking higher taxes on the rich and a raise in the minimum wage.

well all that worked out so well for France, so why shouldn't we destroy ourselves following their lead

simple minded positions

how come we still have Seven out of the top TEN RICHEST in Congress Democrats?
why aren't they donating all their millions to guberment to help us in the middle class?
but yet you fools talk about the rich and then turn around and vote for them to be your masters

From 1941 to the 1960's we had high taxes on the rich and high wages. The taxes were invested in education and infrastructure and the high wages created consumer demand. Now we have low taxes for the rich and low wages.

What is the result? 23% of total income goes to the top 1%.

70% of our economy is consumer demand. Too much money in too few hands starves the economy of demand. Stagnation is the result.

Raise the minimum wage and tax capital gains as income.

I am so sick of lying liberals defending this useless pos in the WH. I was fairly ambivalent until today. Today he is sticking the knife in the back of the working man. Coal stations will be closing and the cost of electricity will do exactly what Obama said he wanted, it will skyrocket. It is also what the power companies want so Obama is helping his big business handlers.

His heritage will be one of destruction of the middle class and yet the OP wants to blame the party that has not been in power for 7 years. Well FY the ills of the country can be placed only one place with OBAMA and the party of slavery the democrats.

Never fear

You will be able to elect a Republican in 16-20 years

How simplistic. No one paid the high rates back in that day, because they had dozens of loopholes and ways to hide income. Liberals never seem to be able to remember that Reagan not only lowered rates, but eliminated most loopholes. I wonder why they can't seem to get that straight?

Oh, and rich democrats will NEVER allow capital gains to be taxed as income, because it would hit them. They don't want that.

Maybe you should stop dividing people in classes and help all people.

The Golden Rule says.....he who has the gold makes the rules

The rules are set up to protect the ability of the wealthy to protect and accumulate wealth. The party of filibuster ensures that it remains that way

yep. Biden, Kerry, Clinton's, Kennedy family...all on the poverty rolls.

I can point to legislation each has passed that help working Americans and the poor

Can you point to any recent legislation promoted by Republicans that helps anyone but the wealthy?

What have they been able to put forth that helped the wealthy? Or do you mean tax cuts for those who ACTUALLY PAY TAXES?

Obama is destroying the country and now will be shutting more coal stations were working men and women make a living. Middle class people he is screwing. Everyone's rates will, as Obama SAID he wanted, will skyrocket. This is the POS you defend.

Yes those tax cuts that provided the lowest tax rates in 40 years, low capital gains rates and assorted deductions and incentives

Capital gains was taxed as income in the late 1980's, but the tax was repealed by George Bush Sr.

And yet revenue is at its highest:

Historical Federal Receipt and Outlay Summary

The biggest thing republicans have done economically were Bush's insane tax cuts for the wealthy class. Obama is responsible for the biggest tax cut for the middle class since Reagan. 2x private jobs were created in Obama's first 5 years than all of Bush's 8.

lol, tax cuts for the wealthy
funny how come I received some of them? I'm far from wealthy?
How a citizen can wail over we the people receiving some of OUR OWN monies back is the saddest stuff I have ever seen

The lying flying monkeys in another thread were bragging about how Obama has cut taxes. I think they need to meet at the castle and get their stories straight. That is what happens when everyone lies.

What makes you think you deserve a penny of what an old man gets for selling his house? Or his stocks for that matter?

Do you remember when they were sending everyone a refund except those who don't pay taxes and already receive earn income credits? Those not receiving a refund on what they didn't pay sure let out a howl.

I hope everyone noticed that the Clinton recession wasn't a disaster as was the 2008 democrat recession. This is because Bush empowered people instead of putting their children in hock as did Obama.

I'll answer your last question, because the democrat party, as witnessed by your post, are lying sacks of sht.
