Do Dems really want to help blacks and the poor?

Perhaps the Democrats mean well, but the unintended consequences of everything they do invariably cause more damage than good.

Oh, I'm sure your average Democratic voter means well. The politician? Eh...

I meant the Democratic Party platform. Lots of lofty ideas and idealistic promises to get ignorant and uninformed people to vote for them. But their platform has no substance to it, and is all based on the supposed existence of pixie dust, unicorn farts, and a big rock candy mountain.

The Democratic strategy with Blacks and the poor is to have government provide for their basic needs and scare them into thinking that they must vote Democratic or they will lose their subsistence. The Trump way is to provide them jobs and a path off of government subsistence.

Look at Dem run states, they tax and fee the crap out of the poor. There's your answer.

Why don't you read about Il and MI and get back to me. Thank you, they are mainly Dem states, except for the Flint water nightmare, that was GOP all the way.

Then go and read about stinking Texas, and or any GOP state.

The liberals in Oregon SLAM the poor with a 9% income tax, your new screen name is Useless Penelope.

we really just need a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage, unemployment compensation for being unemployed on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States, and Industrial Automation to help with social costs.
Funny how people with little understanding always tout the $15.00 an hour minimum wage. They seem to not have even an understanding of simple general economic principles. Sure for a short time things will be great for those with minimum wage jobs. But you can bet your last dollar that either people will be let go and others will be placed on part time. How does that help them? Then those that are not making minimum wage are suddenly making minimum wage or close to it. They will want more. Prices go up to pay higher wages. Eventually that increase to minimum wage is now equal to the current minimum wage. Then what increase it again? When does it stop? When a loaf of bread costs a hundred dollars, when it is cheaper to wipe with money then pay for toilet paper?

How about 500 bucks an hour for a normal attorney. Or how about dentists, or chiropractors. Better yet how about Omarosa who was paid 179,000.
Hey if you think run away inflation is the way to go then keep playing stupid. The market will increase wages if we stop allowing people to work for less then decent wages, and as jobs go unfilled companies will have to increase wages to draw more workers.

what runaway inflation? the right wing is just, fake news.
You really have no clue. That was in regards to another who posted another crazy post. You can keep yelling $15.00 an hour all you want but with any luck smarter and cooler heads will prevail.

Why should I take you seriously if you don't understand the concept of unemployment compensation for simply being unemployed on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States?

How about we rework the mostly liberal colleges and universities to reflect a more modern and less expensive education model and then attorneys, dentists and chiropractors wouldn't have to charge a fortune for their services in order to pay their student debt.

NYU just eliminated tuitition for the medical school, saving students almost 221thousanddollars.

What state do you live in that does not have unemployment compensation? Every state I know of has that. Even if you are fired for being a terrible employee you are still able to recieve unemployment.

If you are talking unemployment for the rest of your life then that is welfare. That is totally diffrent.

no, it isn't. it is compensation for capitalism's natural rate of unemployment. no employer Has to hire anyone on unemployment compensation, too long; not even in Right to Work States.

Some mean well. Others are following the Cloward-Piven strategy in order to put as many people as possible on the doles so that the tax payers eventually go broke. They need the economy to fail big time. Obama did his best to prevent recovery from the recession.

A robust economy, increase in the GDP, and low unemployment are enemies of socialists. When people do well, the left doesn't have their victims to save from the enemies who are to blame for their plight. White people who work are responsible for minority poverty. Whites who attend college are responsible for minorities being uneducated. That is how the left plays it. They preach as if there are limited opportunities and wealth, so if one person does well then it means another person won't do well. If you keep your money, there will be less for someone else. Of course, when people are solely relying on government, then things must be taken from one to give to another. The left wants to pick the winners and losers rather than allow individuals to carve their own life.

All things are going better, thanks to Trump, which is why the establishment Dems hate his guts. Confidence is high after Trump undid some of the damage and the left is actually trying to take credit in hopes that people will vote for them. Of course, it would all go back to a poor economy, less jobs, higher taxes, and more turning to government. That is their idea of things working.

Do Democrats want to help the poor and the blacks? Well.......what if they accomplished that? Then who would need Democrats around?

The first thing to help those people is education. I'm not talking about more money or smaller class sizes, but a more pragmatic approach to education.

First off, Trump should allocate funds to lower income districts to pay police officers to hold seminars in school. The seminar would teach minority children how police are trained, why they order suspects to do the things they want them to do, what they look for, when they have to defend themselves, and how to interact with police should any of those students find themselves in that situation.

Secondly they need to have a mandatory investment class. Too many poor and minorities believe that unless you're really good at rap songs or sports, your only hope for success in this country is to be born the right color, from the right family, from the right neighborhood.

If none of those thing apply to you, then you better be good at selling drugs.

In an investment class, you would not have to hope you can afford college. They should teach things about starting your own business, real estate, the stock market, compound interest, the commodities market. Teach kids how expensive children are an how they could hamper your financial success if you don't have ample supply of money to raise them.

If we just did those two things, I think it would help out the poor communities much better than teaching them that to survive in this country, you need to live off of taxpayers.

sure; especially if no employer has to seek me out and hire me for being unemployed too long.

Boy Howdy, I for one, still can't figure out who the Democrats want to help. Heard for years that everyone should pay their fair share, and I keep asking for what? For quite some time we've heard how it will cover the costs of health insurance. Then they want free schooling. WTF, those doing the most complaining seem to be the ones that want to do the bare minimum to get by. So those democrats that have a roof over your head, eating three meals a day, have a car, have a phone, WTF are you doing for those without. Those in S.F., L.A., and so many other cities that are living in a tent and crapping in the streets. Why should your healthcare and/or schooling come before those really in need?
