Your "inflation-adjusted" gasoline price chart is MEANINGLESS. You are comparing apples to oranges, because you are trying to establish some sort of weird "linear world events" scale that simply doesn't work.

Your chart takes NOTHING into account..........things like world wars, economic conditions, world events, turmoil in other parts of the world, supply and demand, crude oil exploration and refining improvements, etc., etc, etc.
