Hamas frightens Israel because it does not recognize it, not because of its primitive rockets fired into southern Israel that rarely go beyond 3 miles. Hamas did not fire rockets at Israel when it won the legislative council elections in 2006 by a landslide, but Hamas caused fear and panic among the Israelis and their supporters because it did not recognize Israel. Israel trampled on the right of the democratically elected government of the Palestinians to govern because it does not recognize it. Very few rockets have been fired by Hamas this year from Gaza, but Israel continues to lay a tight siege on the Strip since mid-June 2007, starving the 1.5 million Palestinians and carrying out daily aerial, navy and tank attacks on civilian targets.

The Israelis consider the native Palestinians who survived the ethnic cleansing as fifth column because they cannot recognize the state that has subjected them to laws and regulations which deprived them of their lands and relegated them to second class citizens. When some Israeli Palestinians protested Ariel Sharon visit to al-Haram al-Sharif Mosque in October 2000, the Israeli police treated them as enemies, fired live ammunition to quell their unarmed demonstrators killing twelve.

So what you are saying is basically Israel should make "peace" with a murderous organization, which doesn't even recognize her as a state. And that Mosque is also known as the Temple Mount. Sharon wasn't blowing it up, only visiting a place also holy to Jews.

Why doesn't Hamas recognize Israel? why should Israel make peace with a terrorist organization that does not recognize its right to exist?

How should I respond to a post that is based on propaganda?

Why doesn't Hamas recognize Israel? why should Israel make peace with a terrorist organization that does not recognize its right to exist?

There is only one ultimate red line as far managing the historical conflict with Zionism is concerned. And that is accepting the moral legitimacy of Israel.

Of all people, Hamas does realize that a theft, even after the passage of 65 years, doesn't become legitimate.

A final point. Hamas is not against Israel because Israel is Jewish. Hamas is against Israel because Israel is a thief, armed robber, and murderer.

Hamas won't recognize Israel, period

How is that kind of attitude ever going to bring peace to this part of the world? all this means is that this war will go on indefinently.

Israel's version of peace is for the Palestinians to surrender and give their country to Israel.

The Palestinians version of peace is, of course, quite different.

What propanda? I was just going by what your article said. It said Hamas doesn't recognize Israel. It's well-known Hamas was behind all of the suicide bombings. The article only called the Temple Mount by its Muslim name, and not "Har HaBayit"--its Jewish name. It seems you prefer Hamas to even the Palestinian Authority. If the Authority were truly Israel and America's puppet, then it wouldn't refuse to negogiate with Israel while Israel is constructing settlements. Their legitimacy ended last year? Which Arab country is democratic? How long has Mubarak been president of Egypt? Palestine is not Egypt? Well, a cat is a cat is a cat. Democracy cannot flourish for long in any Arab country.
As for calling Israelis thieves, that is counter-productive. Arabs already have 22 countries where they can speak the Arabic language, eat Arabic food, listen to Arabic music, etc. Jews have only one. What's more, Britian tore away Transjordan from the Palestine Mandate, forbade Jews from living there, and created a fake country named after a river.
If Israel gave the Arabs another 23rd country on the West Bank, they should be appreciative.

Tinny, I'm not getting the full pic here...

are you opposed to Jews or to the state of Israel?

If there were no Israel, are you saying that you would be copacetic with that religious group?

If the Q'ran had a passage that said Allah want the Jews to inhabit Israel, then the deal is A-OK?

What the dilio?

I would like to hear the Palestinian version of peace, Tinny. And although it's better to be concise rather than long-winded, a 3-sentence answer from you, rather than a quick-liner, would be appreciated this time. So I can know what you really think. And your own words this time--not another's article or video.

Both Israel and Palestine have two state and one state solutions.

Israel's two state solution is to push Palestinians into walled off bantustans under the control of Israel and call it a state. Israel's one state solution is to expel all Palestinians into Jordan or wherever and take the whole place for themselves.

Palestine's (and the rest of the world's) two state solution is for Israel to withdraw to the '67 borders with the right to return for refugees. Palestine's one state solution is one state with equal rights for all. No one has to move out. Settlements can stay.

BTW, some Palestinians, including Hamas, say that the settlement can stay in a two state solution. The Jews would become citizens of Palestine.

Since you haven't answered post #13, I'll assume that the arguments that you pose are simply a cover based on some innate hate of everything Jewish including Israel.

Carry on.

I am a Christian. I haven't read the other books. Nor do I care to. I am for a one state solution with equal rights for all, including Jews.

"As I told you, no new map was presented to the Palestinians through Taba. But we worked on new internal maps that would reflect the new percentages. And when the ridiculous contention was voiced that what we were proposing to the Palestinians was cantons and that they would not have territorial contiguity, I went to [Egyptian President Hosni] Mubarak and showed him a map. As I recall, it was still the 8-percent map, a map of 8-92. Mubarak perused it with interest and asked aloud why the Palestinians were claiming they didn't have contiguity."
