Nobody with a brain has said the world will end due to climate change, but the changes will cause problems for the inhabitants of the planet.

Whether you think it is due to mankind or just nature, the thing to do is prepare for the changes and do things to mitigate the damage.

The farmers are smart enough to know this and here in the mid-west have been adapting to the changing climate as much as they can. Illinois has almost 100,000 more acres of irrigated cropland and Nebraska almost 500,000 more. This has been done to adjust to the changing rain patterns.

Less can be done about the flooding we are seeing now. In Illinois by this date 90% of the corn is planted historically, this year it is at 24%. Soybeans are normally at 51%, this year it is at 9%. If we have an early winter farmers will be screwed as late as they are getting to plant.

California is an example of ignoring the problem. Their water management system is designed around heavy winter snow slowing melting and filling the lakes and rivers. Their dams are designed to maximize this. The shifting climate has changed that and now they are getting torrential rains that they never used to and the dams are not good with massive amounts of water over a short time.

Sadly, most are too busy fighting about the “who” or the “why” to deal with the “what”.

So tell us, what is worse?

today CO2 makes up .039% of the atmosphere, it was at that same level for all of the years we have been able to record it, and from ice cores and fossils it was at that same level hundreds of millions of years ago.

no plant can live with out CO2, it is a necessary gas of life, not a pollutant.

The climate of planet earth has been changing for hundreds of millions of years and will be changing hundreds of millions of years after the last human is gone. We are a pimple on a gnat on the ass of an elephant as to our affect on the climate or earth.
