Democrats: DO NOTHINGS for Blacks

Can someone post a few accomplishments the Dems have done for blacks, since 1970 or so?

Here's a list of Republican accomplishments to get you started...

1. Republicans passed the 13 Amendment, which ended slavery.

2. Republicans passed the 14th Amendment, which made black people citizens.

3. Republicans passed the 15th Amendment, which gave black people the right to vote.

4. Republicans started Howard University for blacks.

5. Republicans started Spelman College for blacks.

6. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which gave blacks the right to buy and own property.

7. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1871, to protect blacks from the Ku Klux Klan

8. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1875, which gave blacks the right to serve on a Jury

9. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1957

10. Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1960

11. Republican president Dwight Eisenhower sent in the Federal troops to escort black kids to school in Arkansas, this is known as the Little Rock 9.

12. Republicans created 40 Acres and a Mule for blacks

13. Most Republicans voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

14. Most Republicans voted in favor of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

15. Republican president Ronald Reagan signed into law the bill making Dr. King birthday a national holiday.

16. Republican president George Bush Sr brought Federal charges against the 4 white police officers that beat up Rodney King.
Would you say that the Republicans of those times are the same Republicans as today?

This same old shit every week. Republicans track record is so shitty they have no accomplishments for anyone other than white males since the 60's.

Nice work

Republicans aren't racists......they think blacks are intelligent and can handle their own lives........all of the laws that kept democrats from murdering blacks and denying them rights have been passed by Republicans...now blacks have to stop voting for the very people destroying them....

Republicans passed laws to deny them rights? Now you're learning.
Why do RW nuts keep confusing party affiliation with whether
someone is a conservative or a liberal?
Conservative thinking, whether Democrat or Republican, in this country has always been against minorities while liberalism has been the champion of civil rights regardless of party affiliation.
Clarification for post #80. Black people know that there has been a core shift of social liberalism and social conservatism between both parties. RW White males have coalesced in the GOP and brought the same conservative racism with them they had when they were democrats. Liberals are the rest of us: anyone who isn't a RW White male or a woman who loves them.

Most if not all of your "accomplishments" are liberal policies. They changed traditions and goes against what conservatism is about. The constitution of the U.S. was very liberal for its time. Lincoln's emancipation proclamation was liberal ideology. In fact you would call these republicans who supported these and passed these acts RINO's, if you were around at that time, because they are all very liberal policies. Why do republicans hate liberalism so much when they are responsible for the majority of liberals agenda? Lmao!

Women's right to vote. Woman's suffrage when churches were against this right and advocated against it. Republicans were instrumental in women's rights, very liberal, and it is a good thing that it passed back than because the republicans today would never do such a thing. They can't even agree on equal pay. Lol.

ideology changes over time.

I don't think you know what liberal means.

  1. the quality or state of being liberal, as in behavior or attitude. 2. a political and social philosophy advocating individual freedom, representational forms of government, progress and reform, and protection of civil liberties. 3. (sometimes cap.) the principles and practices of a liberal party in politics.

Liberal definition:
1.
open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values.

That just isn't true at all

US conservatism has ALWAYS been about a small federal government, and nothing else. The religious fervor of the last 20 or so years is a direct result of the loony left, but has no relation to what conservatism originally was in this country.

What isn't true? All those policies the op mentioned were liberal, meaning they promoted change and progress instead of holding to traditional values of the time. The left is responsible for the religious take over of conservatism?

You *think* they were Liberal ideas, but you're simply misinformed. Nixon, for example - who did more for blacks than the Clinton and the Democrats ever did for them COMBINED - didn't have a Liberal bone in his body.
Try again, simpleton. This time, engage your brain. Or, try to.
Per definition a liberal goes against tradition, those are liberal policies all of them, shall I link what the churches and conservatives at the time were saying about women's voting rights, the emancipation proclamation.

You guys actually believe all this stuff, and you don't know history, I am amazed. In sixty years I bet conservatives try to take credit for legalizing gay marriage. Lmao

You are obviously confused. Tell me your definition of a liberal and a conservative.

I don't see how telling blacks they are just as capable of achieving great things through hard work as whites are, so stop being perpetual victims in your own minds is racist.

It's racist to pat blacks on the head and tell them "there, there, you can't do it without help so keep voting for handouts."
Are you claiming that all blacks in the USA are on welfare?
