Democrats attempt to destroy America
The Democrats and other liberal fanatics aren't trying to destroy America.
They're trying to transform it into something they think is better.
They are unaware (or they refuse to believe) that the transformation they intend, will result in its deterioration, increasing poverty, less freedom, and its eventual destruction. Even though that has been the result when their "new ideas" have been tried on other large countries, nearly every time.
They believe that if they INTEND to transform it into something better, that's the only thing we need to consider when evaluating their schemes. Good intentions make for good programs, every time.
No proof is needed. Fortunately for them.
And unfortunately for the rest of the country.
So you think that putting the country back on the hook to bail out a handful of banks for their dangerous bets ......That's what caused our last meltdown.......and allowing super rich donors to increase their bids to buy politicians by 10 times are good for the country? You got any proof that either of those things will make life better for anyone but the super rich?
".That's what caused our last meltdown."
Wrong again.
What caused the mortgage meltdown was Democrats ignoring the Constitution, article 1, section 8, and deciding that the federal government should meddle in the private housing industry.
1. Democrat FDR shredded the Constitution....ignoring article I, section 8, the enumerated powers.
He created GSE's Fannie and Freddie to do something the Constitution didn't authorize: meddle in housing.
2. Democrat Carter....the CRA, constraining banking policy
3. Democrat Clinton....strengthened the CRA
Under Clinton, HUD threatened banks, again, to give unrequited loans.
Henchmen: Democrats Cisneros and Cuomo.
4. Democrats Frank and Dodd barred any governmental discipline in this area.
That's the CliffNotes version.
I don't believe you can handle the details.

Right-wingers Want To Erase How George Bush's "Homeowner Society" Helped Cause The Economic Collapse
Q When did the Bush Mortgage Bubble start?
A The general timeframe is it started late 2004.
From Bushs Presidents Working Group on Financial Markets October 2008
The Presidents Working Groups March policy statement acknowledged that turmoil in financial markets clearly was triggered by a dramatic weakening of underwriting standards for U.S. subprime mortgages, beginning in late 2004 and extending into 2007.
Q Did the Community Reinvestment Act under Carter/Clinton caused it?
A "Since 1995 there has been essentially no change in the basic CRA rules or enforcement process that can be reasonably linked to the subprime lending activity. This fact weakens the link between the CRA and the current crisis since the crisis is rooted in poor performance of mortgage loans made between 2004 and 2007. "
..."Another form of easing facilitated the rapid rise of mortgages that didn't require borrowers to fully document their incomes. In 2006, these low- or no-doc loans comprised 81 percent of near-prime, 55 percent of jumbo, 50 percent of subprime and 36 percent of prime securitized mortgages."
Q HOLY JESUS! DID YOU JUST PROVE THAT OVER 50 % OF ALL MORTGAGES IN 2006 DIDN'T REQUIRE BORROWERS TO DOCUMENT THEIR INCOME?!?!?!?
A Yes.
Q WHO THE HELL LOANS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PEOPLE WITHOUT CHECKING THEIR INCOMES?!?!?
A Banks.
Q WHY??!?!!!?!
A Two reasons, greed and Bush's regulators let them

" Lesley Stahl interviews the former head of the CIA's Clandestine Service about waterboarding and other methods he says were essential to getting information from suspected terrorists, and he denies claims that these harsh measures caused detainees to provide false or unreliable information that misled the CIA. In fact, Rodriguez says that high-level detainees Khalid Sheik Mohammed and Abu Zubaydah provided their best information only after harsh treatment, a claim that the CIA's own investigator general has challenged."

4. " WASHINGTON -- Congressional leaders were briefed in detail about techniques used in the Central Intelligence Agency's interrogation program, according to a new intelligence document.
The document appears to conflict with recent statements from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was then the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee. Ms. Pelosi has said she hadn't been told that the CIA was using the technique known as waterboarding, or simulated drowning. According to the document, Ms. Pelosi was one of the first lawmakers briefed on the interrogations in 2002." CIA Says It Briefed Congressional Leaders - WSJ
a. "The leaders of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees and of both parties in Congress were briefed on the program more than 40 times between 2002 and 2009. But Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)tried to denythat she was told in 2002 that detainees had been waterboarded. That is simply not true. I was among those who briefed her." Answering only yes or no,
would you object to Americans being tortured by an enemy? Would you withdraw your objection if the enemy could demonstrate that they had obtained actionable intelligence from the tortured Americans?
your question is moot. The USA has not tortured anyone. Waterboarding and sleep deprivation are not torture.
So you have no moral, legal, ethical objection to an enemy waterboarding captured Americans?
You will take the side of the enemy if that issue ever comes up?
Can you promise to do that?
the japanese did it during WW2. American GIs are waterboarded as part of their training. We dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan and killed hundreds of thousands. War is hell. There are no rules in war except kill the enemy before he kills you.
you liberal pussies need to wake up and understand how the real world works.
You didn't answer the questions.
btw, I'm a veteran and no we were not waterboarded as part of our training.
many were, maybe the band was exempt.
our enemies are going to do what they are going to do. Are you really so naive that you think radical muslim terrorists will follow the geneva convention?
I would not want any american to be tortured. As to waterboarding, KSM had it done over 100 times and he is still mentally and physically healthy. it is not torture.
