Do you even know 5.56 is just the size? My AR is chambered for 5.56 and with a 5.56 you can also shoot .223 ammo. Pretty neat huh? But you can't shoot 5.56 in a .223. Remember that when your nuts finally drop. There's nothing armor piercing about it, most ammo is not armor piercing but you can get it. I have some in case the bad guys are armored, duh.
