Democrat Andrew Yang: i wish Nixon wasnt impeached, he would have implemented the freedom dividend!!

this is stunning!

Okay, it's Devil's Advocate time. Let's go forward 20 years.

Jobs lost.

Fast food. You will still have a Manager and an Asst Manager. But no others.

Restaurant Workers. Sorry, that's gone except for Niche Markets. But the consumer is going to pay premium for those services.

Factory workers of all kinds including Management. Sorry, all you white collar workers aren't safe on this one. A computer can do your job as well. You guys worked so hard to automate your factory floor workers and some program comes along and it's a Management Program and it replaces you. Not to worry, the CEO and people just below him are safe. And the IT Department and the Equipment Repair Departments are safe.

Warehouse Workers. Amazon already has a program to do away with the Warehouse Worker. This includes pulling and storing the items, transporting the items to the docks, loading the trucks, etc.. It isn't in force quite yet but it's within 10 years time or less.

Truck Drivers. Long Haul will go first. That's going to happen in less than 10 years. At about 10 years, the trucks will navigate from one depot to another and still have to be parked by a human. But at 20, the Human won't be involved except as an overseer. At about 10 years, the short haul drivers will still be employed but by 20 years, they are on the chopping block as well.

Cab Drivers. I give it 10 years but let's just say, in 20, cabs are all going to be automated. If you want a live, human being, you are going to have to pay premium for it. Human Cabs will be a niche market only.

Retail. It's all online except for the Niche markets. Even Walmart will have to shut their stores down and run things out of the centrally located warehouses like Amazon does. Even Groceries. We aren't that far away from that now.

Quick Stops. Yes, folks, the thing that killed the Gas Stations will be gone. In 20 years, some States will have more Electric Cars than gas cars. But 20 years is too short time on this one. Let's push it to 35 years. AT some point, most cars on the roads will be electric. No more having to gas up. And, let's face it, the real reason that the Quick Stop is there is to gas your guzzler no matter how many hotdogs and burritos you buy at the same time. We already have charging stations for our cell phones that you don't have to plug your phone in. Within 35 years, we will have parking spaces (paid of course) where you park your car and they recharge just by being parked there. On a long trip, you park your car, go in for a noon meal (or a nooner) and your car receives a charge. You park your car in a parking lot or garage (for pay) and your car gets charged while parked there. You might have a plugin at home or a platform you park your car that charges the car. Without the Gas, the Quick Stops will disappear.

There is a huge list of jobs gone in 20 years just to automation. Yang is right but he's a bit premature. In 20 years, we are going to have to be paying people a universal wage to not work. Put that way, it makes it sound bad. But let's put it another way, life would start to be real good for everyone and everyone would benefit from the Economy. It's either that or a hundred million people start to hang the 1% from the nearest Yardarms and most of them will be Armed.

Not to worry, there is at least one job that won't be affected. If you choose to work at a low paying job, Motel Maids will still be needed. In 20 years, they still won't figure out a way to clean up a motel room after your nasty ass uses it.

New technological innovations, especially automation, promise to benefit some but not all. A Freedom Dividend would change that, ensuring that all Americans will have the opportunity to reap the benefits of our rapidly changing economy.

people who can work should work or do something else productive. There’s no excuse for an able-bodied, working-age man and woman to not go to work, not volunteer, not take training, not be in school or not be caring for someone else.

Those are five on-ramps to the American Dream

We had better start thinking about not having enough living wage jobs available for all real fast. The need is already here. And will continue to expand. I don't have a problem with a government or community work program for a check. I think that would put a lot of pride back into America. But it's going to take time to get it accepted. But it's going to have to happen and it needs to get started now.

Instead of Unemployment checks to perfectly good workers, there are enough pot holes that need filling. There are enough roads that need to have the trash picked up. There are enough other jobs that can be done. Why send a skill labor person home when you can put them to work on a public works program. Same goes to kids right out of High School that are having trouble finding living wage jobs. Think of it as the New New Deal. If we don't then Welfare, crime and others are just going to get worse. Picking Peaches should be on that list as well.
