There is no evidence suggesting ballots can return this country to the limited government and the individual liberties the Founders designed. In addition to the burlesque America’s elections have become, election after election shows that politicians campaign on one thing then become the strongest advocates for big government the minute they take office. That’s understandable because big government is where the money is for tyrants and crooks of every size and shape. Politicians in large and medium cities steal as much in their little fiefdoms as do the people at the county, state, and federal levels.
If you still believe ballots can defeat big government the question becomes “Then who will turn to bullets?” The answer is obvious. The federal government is stocking up on bullets not because they fear a revolution from liberty-loving Americans, but because they want to cover all bases in the unlikely event ballots overthrow them.
Remember that at some point in the early 20th century the federal government stopped preventing and punishing violence committed in the name of big government; primarily labor unions. Indeed, the day came in the FDR years when government encouraged violence in the name of omnipotent government. Later on, the federal government began funding violence by funding Socialist causes. So there is every reason to expect the government will arm those who defend big government today.
The philosophical ancestors of today’s parasite class came to power with violence along with the believed threat of more violence, and intimidation. Their objective in today’s America is clear. The heirs of successful violence must turn to violent revolution if they hope to hang onto to their inheritance.
Conversely, opponents of tyranny must fight the Left’s revolution until there is no doubt the civilian forces for totalitarian government are going to lose. When that minute arrives those people holding the power in government will stumble over one another in order to line up with the winners. In addition, the power structure is not going to risk having the military and the police defeated along with the parasites.
Bottom line: No matter what happens the American people must do what they failed to do a century ago; that is fight for their freedoms against a civilian parasite class who now have a vested interest in supporting big government. Americans cannot make the mistake of thinking the federal government will stop the violence today any more then they stopped it a century ago. In fact, arming the parasite class is the only way tyranny can win.
On the plus side, once the parasite class attempts to spread its revolution beyond the big cities where the federal government is strongest they simply do not have enough troops and police on their side to retain control of America’s huge land mass against a well-armed and well-motivated public. Patrice Lewis touches on the government’s weak link in her brilliant piece:
Americans still have time to make inroads into the government’s grip on America’s major cities. I’m convinced liberty-loving Americans still outnumber the parasites in every major city except Washington, D.C. With any kind of effort the parasite class’ predictable revolution can be nipped in the bud so long as Americans do not make the mistake of appealing to the federal government for help. Hanging on to every weapon Americans can get their hands on —— with or without the Second Amendment’s protection —— is the key to survival in light of the government’s armed parasite class.
Finally, preparing to defend against violent revolution should conservatives in Congress begin to dismantle the welfare state should not be confused with fomenting revolution. Erik Rush touches on the Left’s interpretation of self defense in this excerpt:

And if the government elites come for our guns, they’re going to find themselves facing a conflagration larger than anything they could ever imagine. By and large, the heartland of America hasn’t been brainwashed into the progressive groupthink that’s been so successful in the cities.
When it comes time to reclaim our country, we’ll be ready. We’ll no longer be brother against brother, blacks against whites, rich against poor, elite against the masses.
We’ll be patriots against tyranny. Just as America has always been.

Finally, preparing to defend against violent revolution should conservatives in Congress begin to dismantle the welfare state should not be confused with fomenting revolution. Erik Rush touches on the Left’s interpretation of self defense in this excerpt:
Naturally, Colmes jumped to the conclusion that I was advocating for an armed assault on Washington. I pointed out that there is a vast difference between asserting that the government merits being removed by force of arms by virtue of their unlawful actions, and attempting to foment an armed insurgency.
The Obama administration’s war against the Second Amendment rages on, most notably in Colorado (the state in which I happen to live). As I write this, the Senate’s resident putrid harridan Dianne Feinstein and Senate Democrats are trying to pass a package of national firearms control laws similar to the draconian measures recently passed in Colorado.
