A Tragic Case of Modern Bioethics: Denying Life-Sustaining Treatment to a Patient Who Wanted to Live

A Texas man was taken off life support despite his objections and the objections of his family according to this article. It was all done because a hospital ethics committee decided to do it.

And the ethics committee cannot be questioned in any way, nor can we know who they are and these people need no qualifications.

Scary stuff

"Do no harm", aye?

Dime to a dollar his insurance ran out.

What kind of Orwellian World do we live in when a Hospital ETHICS Committee decides to wack one of its own patients over the objections of the patient and his family? Sounds like they should be calling it the UNETHICAL Committee.

We have to keep up with the UK. So soon the government will be preventing parents from taking their ill children to see a doctor.

I've told this story here before...My good friend and former neighbor lost his job a few years ago...he had to find a healthcare plan that would cover him...all that was available to him was covered California...California's version of Obamacare...
He struggled to afford it and when the doctor told him he needed an expensive medication he found out it wasn't covered on his plan...he didn't know what else to do but to do without the drug...He thought he had Diverticulitis so he changed his diet...stopped drinking but things were not getting better...
He then decided to go back to his doctor but found out his doctor didn't accept his plan...he also found out that the closest doctor that would take him on as a patient was 150 miles away....
He got an appointment finally but there was a 3 month wait...he never made that appointment because he died from stomach cancer before his appointment...
I've always believed that he would be alive today if Obama never messed with our healthcare system...

He was uninsured and likely did not have the money to pay for his medical expenses.

Why should a hospital be forced to provide service and care to those who cannot pay?

He was never uninsured...he got shoved into a plan that was simply not affordable to utilize...He had one choice for coverage and one choice only...

You are filth.
But you know that.

We didn't have this problem before Obamacare, did we?

Nope. We didn't.

Fewer.

But you're clearly not understanding the question.
