Darling Of The Left,Michael Moore Gives $20K For Assange Bail...

Julian Asswipe is about as much a journalist as Opie dope is a centrist.

Troll fail.

Assange might call himself a journalist. I could call myself the Queen of England - wouldn't make it true. Assange is not a journalist. He has no degree in journalism, he has not worked as a journalist.... in fact, between him and me, I'd be more accurately described as a journalist than him. But don't let facts get in your way.
A better description of Assange would be 'publisher'.

The internet is akin to an informational 'open range', but in a global sense. A global 'commons'. In this sense, Assange is a 'free grazer', and is as free, as you or I, to put on the internet whatever he wants.
Now if the U.S. Government or a major private corporation lays proprietary(ownership) claim to the worldwide web, then they lay claim to the content and they are free to barb wire off(censor) what gets put on and what gets taken off. If this happens, many truths will remain 'somewhere out there'; and, in the spirit of the late George Carlin, we'll wake up one day to seven words that you cannot use on the 'net.

So how many soldiers voluntarily fighting a ridiculous, phony war against a completely fabricated enemy have died since another american soldier stole the diplomatic cables and gave them to Assange?

By the lack itelligence and maturity demonstrated in this thread I suppose we should be calling for Moore's execution too! Never can have enough blood when so many soldiers are dying because of these leaked cables, I mean, the bodies are just piling up. Afterall, nothing quenches the thirst for blood among undereducated american sheep like the refreshing taste of more blood.

God it must be so confusing to see the world in the simple LEFT RIGHT model so many of you seem to see it as.

Suddenly Obama is a conservative because his regime wants WIKILEAKS out of business?

Are the facts that Bush II bailed out the banks and Obama wants to crush WIKILEAKS beginning to alert you to the fact that your simplistic LEFT RIGHT model of how the USA and the world works is somewhat flawed, yet?

No?

Well you just keep delving into the issue and perhaps in time you're begin to understand that the players here are way more complex than your current POV suggests.

All this non-sense about Julian is just ridiculous. Sure , Julian reveals certain information. But thats it.

It is not Julian endanering lives, but the societies that send their children off to war.

What a great idea, off with his head..heh.

So Moore is making another movie and I suppose the $20,000 bail will be a good starting point, maybe he will make a rant like:

How can it be that national security is more important than free speech, the constitution, the founding fathers....*Moore starts to foam at the mouth*.... therefore we should be a socialist nation. :cuckoo:

So you empower government even more, thus making it worse. Brilliant plan Michael Moore.

And these places are secret and nobody knows where they are?? Yeah, right....:cuckoo:
Post your address. I mean, people know where you live, right?

what has my address have to do with public infrastructure that a five year old could find out where it's location is? Do you think the 9-11 douchebags took a 'guess' at where the twin towers or pentagon were located?

Ijit...
Ahhh. So it's different when it's you and your family put at risk. Somehow. It just is.

Wow, you know that's the same section of law that Michell used to attempt to stop the NY Times from publishing the Pentagon Papers? Remember how the Supreme Court ruled in that one?

If not, I'll remind you:
FindLaw | Cases and Codes
That only applies if Assange is a journalist.

He's not.

You don't get to decide who's a journalist and who's not. For all intents and purposes, he is.
You and Synthaholic need to get your stories straight.

Stupid grazing analogies aside, Assange was not in fact "free" to publish classified US materials. Whether he personally stole them or not, he knew they were stolen and he knew they were classified. He intentionally broke our laws, has placed lots of lives at risk and has not even the beginning of a legitimate claim to the authority to make such decisions.

None of what Assange did -- or the U.S. Government's hoped-for criminal prosecution of Assange -- has a single thing to do with net freedom.

^ One of the dumber posts in this thread.

Of course, when you start with retarded premises, it's difficult for the fucking post to improve in the ensuing mess of words.

The "enemy" our servicemen are fighting are not now and never have been fabricated at all. What a douche bag thing to mutter.

By this logic, the other media outlets that published the material were not free to do so either. They knew they were stolen, they knew they were classified. They "intentionally broke our laws, have placed lots of lives at risk..."

I guess we need to line up pretty much the entirety of the US press corps from The Nation to MSNBC to the NYT, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and the Washington Times and put them on trial for espionage.
