But in one week, we have Corsi and Stone opting to chance de facto life sentences, and Manafort choosing not to "clarify" his non-disclosures .......

Look at the bright side, with a lenient sentence from the military tribunal, Team Mueller will be in and out of Leveanworth in, on average 20 years. Weissman might get 50 years and skew the average

Rather than facing life sentences it's the government getting the hoist. They are demanding lies. Manafort said he would lie for the government. Now he apparently lied when he said that.

Corsi and Stone have both refused to swear to the government tall tales. Get everyone into court and under oath before an honest judge. If any can be found.

You're supposing that Mueller would write a false report, and that's not only fantasy but illogical. Doing so would not be in his own interests. And any "fact" he reports would have to have mult sources, so for any lie, Trump officials would have to coordinate their own lies. We'd see a pattern of their lawyers meeting up to concoct lies. So again, you're drinking Trump piss.

Rather, realistically, it seems to me that Trump is offering deals. He can offer up pardons that would occur sometime in Dec or early Jan of 2020. By then, he'd either have won or lost a second term.

BUT what surprises me is that he'd be naïve (even for Trump) to think Mueller wouldn't know of offers. And any offer would be part of an obstruction set of facts. So WE will know before the 20 election.

So IF he is offering deals, he's very worried about what Manafort Corsi and Stone have on him.

They refuse to lie about Trump....they are stand up men and will not be frightened into lying so Mueller can get Trump....

You can't offer or promise a pardon. It would certainly get out, and it would impact peoples' behavior in unmistakable ways.

OTOH, if Mueller pursues bullshit perjury charges ("lies" about inconsequential or irrelevant facts), I should think Trump will do what is right. A lot of this is a kabuki dance right now.

Mueller is, as Trump often reminds us, a very bad person.

He has a history of it.....
do tell
He knowingly left 3 innocent men sit in prison to protect his source...two of the men died in prison the third was released and sued the justice dept. and won...Mueller was so wanting of a victory he didn't care about what damage he was doing....
What some people don’t know about Mueller is that he has a long history of leading government investigations that were diversions or cover-ups. These include the investigation into the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, the investigation into the terrorist financing Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), and the FBI investigations into the crimes of September 11th, 2001. Today the public is beginning to realize that Mueller’s investigation into Russian alleged collusion with the Trump campaign is a similar diversion.

If the subject in an investigation pardons a witness in that ongoing investigation, that is obstruction of justice.

Trump is behaving just like a guilty mobster, trying the prosecutor in the court of public opinion. And just like the rubes on this forum, there were saps who supported mobsters like Dapper Don.

We have a new Dapper Don mobster now, and Mueller must be getting close to something which has him scared shitless.
