Theoretically it is possible, probable...no.
Palin does have star status like Pres. Reagan and any republican opponent will have to overcome that. If they expect to overcome it they need to start getting money now and making a name for themselves. I know Indiana Gov Daniels is mentioned as a possible opponent and even though his track record is good, outside of Indiana he is a relatively unknown. Of course you have your other retreads and I think you have to keep an eye out for Jeb Bush too. Public opinion is very changable as seen in the last year and Jeb will be 8 years removed from the last Bush.
So Gov. Palin has a chance, but the Qualesque way she came on the scene hurts her because she is seen as a someone who is not intelligent enough for the office. And it is hard to overcome first impressions, especially if the media is against you.
