Corporations: the leftwing boogeyman

What is it about lefties and corporations?

Corporations are merely the means of bringing the factors of production - capital, labor, management, raw materials if it's manufacturing, plant and equipment together to produce goods and services.

I'm guessing it's because it's one of the higher expressions of capitalism.

Corporations provide products for people. They provide jobs for people who not in a million years otherwise could provide their own livelihood. They provide investments for people's 401Ks.

Not only that, they've become the lap kitties of the left, adopting most of the leftwing agenda:

- pervasive anti-white male discrimination

- contributions to leftwing foundations and candidates

- "partner" benefits to shacked up homosexuals

- the "cleansing" of religious aspects from the workplace

- all kinds of butt-kissing for minority events like black history week

- PR efforts and contributions for Pee See diseases like AIDS and breast cancer

I would also remind the tax-loving left-wingers (who hate corporations so much) that every dime of taxes paid by the employees of a corporation actually come from the corporation to begin with. And that is quite a chunk of this country’s revenue.
simply NOT TRUE....I have earned my income/compensation for the work i do for them, and for the money i made them....

MY INCOME TAXES PAID, IS MY INCOME....not in any way, the corporation's....that's just really really messed up for you to even THINK that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please reconsider!!! Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say?

75% of Americans are employed by small businesses, NOT by corporations?

I never said your income was not your income.

And, you are correct, you are the one paying the taxes on that income.

However, the money, itself, comes from the corporation regardless of whether the employee uses it to buy groceries or pay taxes.

And, the worst part of this transaction is that the corporation does not even give the employee that part of their earnings, they give it directly to the government.

The right tries to vilify the leftist because somehow we hate the entities, but as of yet they have yet to take notice that not all rich people are right wingers, that not all corporations lean left or just right, their vetted interest is to make laws with which they may profit from, want mind control of the consumers of the world and a tax free existence.

Bravo!!:clap2::clap2:

When you look at the US Chamber of Commerce, you should ask, "Why do they give more than 90% to Republicans?" If it were so even, why don't they give more than a "piddly amount" to Democrats.

Employees hold fundraisers, bundle their money and contribute it to Democratic candidates. But they list the source as the company they work at. This is why huge companies give to both candidates. The CEO and BOD to GOP, the employees to Democrats. I think it's great that employees give to their political candidates.

The problem is the Republicans, once again, lie by twisting the facts, insisting employees giving is no different than the company itself giving. Only it's very different.

Look at the make up of the two parties. One is 90% white made up of middle class to poor and their leaders are ultra rich.

Democrats are 65% white, but those whites include gays and scientists and atheists and college professors and teachers and rich and poor. The balance of the party is everyone else. They are a coalition party.

Nothing here is new. I've linked to everything here again and again.

Linked?? I'm not sure what that means, but your blind faith in Democrat mythology is sort of pathetic. You can't dance fast enough to hide the massive corporate bailouts that have happened under Obama's watch. When Obama took the reigns, and Democrats took Congress, the entire country hoped for real change. They hoped Obama would get us out of the Middle East, protect our rights against the onslaught of neocon demagoguery, repeal the Patriot Act, etc, etc, etc... NONE OF THESE THINGS HAVE HAPPENED. Instead, we've seen Democratic corporatism as they bailout their cronies on Wall Street, sell us out to the health insurance industry, and push for ever greater, more centralized control over our lives.

How selective your RECALL.

Have you already forgotten the multi-trillion dollar guarantees and BAILOUTS of BANKING CORPORATIONS that happened on BUSH II's watch?

Here's a wakeup call for ya, kid.

They're BOTH crypto-socialist parties.

How can people like you keep missing the obvious?

Yep. Pretty much like that. Glad you recognize the equivalence. That's progress!

Equivalent to what?

I was pointing that, instead of 'hope and change', Obama and the Democratic congress merely served up their own batch of authoritarian ambitions and you replied with "like the more than 80 abortion bills Republicans are trying to force on the American people nationwide? Like that?" - and I'm saying yeah, like that. I'd hoped that your comment indicated you could see the similarities between the Democrats telling us how we have to pay for our health care and the Republican telling us how to manage our pregnancies. Perhaps my congratulations was premature.

The health care bill wasn't about "managing health care". It was about the millions of American who have no health care. For instance, when someone visits the emergency room, the cost is 600 to 1,000 dollars, more if you are over 40. To visit a doctor at a clinic, the cost averages 40 to 60 dollars a person. That 10x cost for the emergency room is passed on to the American taxpayer. Worse, if something is discovered, the cost could be in the 10s of thousands, all passed on to the taxpayer.

The number one cause of bankruptcy are medical bills.

This while HC CEOs ride private jets. Some receive paychecks of over $100,000,000.00. They don't make anything. The get the money from skimming policies and denying those who get sick as "pre-existing condition" or "experimental procedure".

Too many drink in the Republican swill in great gulps. You get some someone who steps in to really do something to help the middle class and the lemmings scream, "Don't take away our right to go bankrupt or die".

You mean the bailouts that Obama stated were so important that he had to suspend his campaign to go vote in favor of? Obama, who rarely could be bothered to vote on anything..

Standard Disclaimer: McCain also voted in favor of TARP.

Are you really as stupid as you portray yourself to be?

The bill was about the merger of the federal government with powerful corporations, about the establishment of fascism

You WILL buy the product of Kaiser or Blue Cross - the IRS will see to that.

This while HC CEOs ride private jets. Some receive paychecks of over $100,000,000.00.

Soon to go up, thanks to Obama making the federal government their enforcement agency.

What is a crack up is that you fascists try to convince people that you'll improve things - the truth is quite the opposite.

the money comes from the corporation BECAUSE I MADE THEM, that money, thru my labor....corps have no money, without the workers making it for them.

Actually there would be no workers, no salaries, without the funding that 'investor(s)' used to open the business, whether large or small. So 'yes' at some point there is money BEFORE there were workers

You have it backwards, the people who work for a corporation have no money without the corporation.

And, if you don’t believe me, just ask any of the millions of laid-off corporate workers.

Obama used more drones in Afghanistan in his first year than Bush did during his entire time in office. The result? The al Qaeda leadership has been pretty much obliterated. What I don't understand is how Republicans think you can just "change your mind" and walk away. Obama must love Iraq and Afghanistan because we are still there. The truth is, Republicans made such an enormous mess that we are pretty much stuck.

Give me a fucking break. Pretty much stuck?? For almost all of our time in Iraq during Bush the left called for pulling out immediately. It's one of the few things I agreed with them on. Now that Obama is pres, we're "stuck"?

Hold the mother fucker accountable, you pussy.

No, but they could, and should, be more careful about how they invest their money and the sorts of activities their investment funds.

Dude, North Korea is there for you. Your paradise awaits - don't hesitate!

If you own a company and you hire someone with the directive "do whatever it takes to turn a profit",

Leftism is a manifestation of ignorance. Misconception and faulty logic are the foundational attributes of the left.

Corporations are owned by the shareholders. Yes, I realize that HuffingPo and KOS tell you that there is a "Scrooge McDuck" type character who bathes in gold coins - but that isn't reality - it's a fantasy created to manipulate the stupid.

The "owner" of public corporations are the stock holders, usually thousands of people who have invested in the company. You think it's okay to steal, because you're only stealing from "Scrooge McDuck" who has too much anyway. But who you're really stealing from is hard working people who put a little money in a 401K with the hopes that someday they might be able to retire. Sometimes, even the people YOU care about, the public employee unions, invest in stocks. That's the money you want to steal.

Ya think?

Here's the REAL asset breakdown FYI

Investments........ Top 1 percent.. Next 9 percent ..Bottom 90 percent
Business equity.............. 62.4%......... 30.9% ......................6.7%
Financial securities...........60.6%..........37.9%.......................1.5%
Trusts...........................38.9%..........40.5%......................20.6%
Stocks and mutual funds...38.3%..........42.9%......................18.8%
Non-home real estate.......28.3%..........48.6%......................23.1%

TOTAL...........................49.7%........38.1%.....................12.2%

Basically, 10% of the population owns 88% of all investments.

That means that the averge to 10%er has about 64 times as much investment per capita, as the bottom 90%er.

I am middle class and come from middle class roots but, unlike any of my middle class parents or grandparents, I own various interests in stocks and bonds as do virtually all my boomer middle class relatives. So looking at this chart got me thinking about what it may have looked like, let’s say, forty years ago. Did the middle class own such a huge a stake in America back then or did it belong mainly to the Scrooge McDucks?

I honestly don’t know but, just from my own experience, I gotta believe that the middle class (the American workers) owned nowhere near as much as they do now.

While the government agency you undoubtedly "work" for has a defined benefits plan, most Americans rely on a 401K to retire. Your desire to steal this money (so public employees can have MORE MORE MORE) is taking the food out of retirees mouths. Why do leftists want to starve the elderly?
