"Former Attorney General William Barr defended Fox News from claims of defamation brought in court by Dominion Voting Systems in an opinion column published in Rupert Murdochās Wall Street Journal. A ruling against Fox would be a major blow to media freedoms generally, subjecting news outlets to the prospect of outsize liability whenever they report on newsworthy allegations that turn out to be false,ā Barr wrote. The former attorney generalās line of thinking is that Fox was not responsible for the claims made by Trumpās allies about voter fraud - In a statement on Friday, Dominion said āAs long-settled law makes clear, the First Amendment does not shield broadcasters that knowingly or recklessly spread lies.ā
Fox has argued the internal communications of its employees have been ācherry pickedā and do not prove the network acted with actual malice, a key legal standard in defamation cases, toward Dominion. āConservatives shouldnāt try to weaken the actual-malice standard. For the foreseeable future, we will likely be on the wrong side of the culture-setting consensus,ā wrote Barr."
Even tho, Barr is probably one of the greatest Attorney Generals in the history of the country -- I wished he wouldn't be so cowardly about this whole Dominion thing. He has the evidence that Dominion used Italian satellites and Korean submarines to help the steal the election -- so for him to basically side with the Deep State and assert that Biden didn't steal the election is basically an act of treason. So him coming to the defense of Fox is a little too late -- why didn't he arrest Hunter's laptop when he had a chance to?
Overall, I will still consider him a patriot because he must be if he was appointed by God's main patriot, Trump himself - who would not be dumb enough to put someone in any position in his cabinet or business who wouldn't do the right thing.
