Congressman Hank Johnson: If Guam gets too overpopulated, it might tip over

I keep thinking about this for some reason ...

I am absolutely floored that this guy thought an island could capsize.

I mean, really think about that.

Fuckin' wow.

Ya know I thought it was one of the stupidest things I had ever heard. Then I stumbled upon another site discussing this and found this comment in backing up how stupid and inane Johnson was in thinking the island could tip over, this was their logic as to why it would not tip:

The highest point on Guam is 1,332 ft above sea level. The Guam quarter indicates that a good portion of the island is hilly. I think it would take a lot to capsize the island.

I'm not sure which is worse, Johnson or the guys comment above.

I guess the bigger idiot theory lives on.

Most definitely. When I first saw the title I thought-- Oh it's April first-- a joke!! Haha-ha! But then I saw that it was March 31st ( when I posted this yesterday) and the video had been posted on 25 March. Adding Admiral Willard had met with the House Appropriations Subcommittee on that same day ( 25 March) to speak about Guam. But I hoped for Johnson's sake it was a April Fool’s Joke-- but it was not. :eusa_eh:

Me too. I keep waiting for the punchline, or some asshole to shout "April fool!!", or some shit.
America is in more trouble than I thought if this is true and someone that fuckin' idiotic is an elected official. Sad:eusa_eh:

What if it really flipped? You would all sound stupid. :D
Do you anticipate that?

Meanwhile, had Johnson been a repug and not a dem, you would be all over it like a Haitian on a peanut butter sandwich. You would be crowing over how stupid and ignorant he is.

This stupid shit happened almost a WEEK ago, (last Friday) and it's gotten nary a mention in the media. Not even late night comedy, the daily show, anything. Were Johnson a repug we would never hear the end of it. Letterman and Leno would be rapping on it every night for a month, and all hacks such as yourself would be beside yourselves with glee.

Why can't you -- when you see something really, toweringly, titanically stupid like this -- just say something like "man, that is really stupid" or say nothing at all?

Why can't you stop being a hack?

Interesting note about Guam, they are ruled by Republicans! Maybe that is why Hank Johnson is against anything helping the Island.

Word to Johnson, Islands like Guam receive huge economic boast by the military and military bases. These soldiers don't take jobs away from the Island inhabitants and they bring nice wages (when compared to the Island wages). They shop at stores, go to movies, go to restaurants, go to clubs and bars. They also protect the Island. Guam wants them.

Sorry. Guam is ruled by ultra-liberals.....their main source of income is the Japanese tourist industry along with Anderson AFB and Big Navy.....plus about 10,000 bars. On Guam if you are 18 years old you can work in a bar....so obviously they have a lot of local female teenagers working in the clubs.

Guam is awarded NO BID CONTRACTS by the Obama Administration for their work in shipyards.

They might be liberal, but they still voted in representatives that caucus with the Republican party. I think the Guam Republican party is less liberal then their Democratic counterparts. They also seem to usually straw poll for Republicans in the States.

So, volcanic isles float.

Just another reason why I oppose big government, this guy is likely considered an intellectual.

Why yes they do float...when your entire knowledge of science comes from watching Space Ghost and Scooby Doo.
But at the same time, for some reason, he seems to believe that rising ocean levels would be a problem.....

Well...we can't have Guam..say...floating over to California now can we? :booze:

What really cracked me up was the look on that Admiral's face when he actually had to address the fucking stupidity of this imbecile from Georgia.

I bet the dude's a pretty decent poker player.

His deadpan delivery of "we don't anticipate that" is the perfect counterpoint to this towering stupidity.

Now Luissa will enlighten us about islands that really ARE floaters, and how the planets could align resulting in their upturning.....

Yea he read the Health Care bill. Yikes! Another fine example of America's Socialist/Progressive nutters at work. For the love of God,make 2010 count people.

Gotta agree.

If this guy were a Rep this would be all over the news and late night.

Dem. Not a peep. Can't say I'm surprised.

I saw this thread and thought it was a joke. Jeeze. Could anyone be this ignorant?? This guys a member of Congress?? Boy. Don't that speak volumes??

The Admiral is one cool dude. Don't know how he held it together. Jeeze.

He sounded like he was thoroughly baked. There is no way this freak read the the massive Health Care debacle and fully comprehended it. That's just impossible. Which way did he vote? Scary stuff.

This makes me want to hide the fact that I live in Georgia.
