Wow. Wonderful proof you presneted.

Gingrich is a bonafide racist. He's written books about how inferior other people are in other cultures. He went on national tv to announce poor (black) children should work as janitors in the schools they attend.

By the way..I still think Gingrich is brilliant when it comes to political analysis. As is Buchanan, another bonafide racist.

Everybody’s racists of the mouth of a bigot...You can't even come to grips with who you are

Oh gosh.

The 2008 U.S. presidential race will forever be remembered as historic because it saw the election of the nation’s first black president—Barack Obama. But four years later, an undercurrent of racism ran through the 2012 presidential race. Republican presidential candidates such as Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum were accused of making racist remarks, while Jon Huntsman found himself the target of a racist attack ad. A number of racial groups—blacks, Asians, even Palestinians—found themselves at the center of racial scandals triggered by conservative politicians. This recap provides an overview of race-based controversies during the 2012 presidential campaign and just why the actions and remarks of right-wing politicians managed to offend so many people.
Gingrich Offends Blacks and Palestinians

Former speaker of the House Newt Gingrich sparked a couple of different controversies related to race during the 2012 presidential campaign. Just before the Republican primaries kicked off, Gingrich made remarks that offended African Americans and Palestinians. So, what did Gingrich say? In December 2011, Gingrich said during an event at the Nationwide Insurance headquarters, “Really poor children in really poor neighborhoods have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works. So they literally have no habit of showing up on Monday. They have no habit of staying all day. They have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash,’ unless it's illegal.”

Gingrich faced a backlash because many people, including Whoopi Goldberg of “The View” and Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show,” felt that Gingrich was using the word “poor” as code for “black” and fueling the stereotype that African Americans are lazy criminals.

Gingrich also raised eyebrows in December 2011 for remarking during a Jewish Channel interview that Palestinians are an “invented people.” Palestinian officials, including prime minister Salam Fayyad, criticized Gingrich for making comments that denied “historical truths.”
Santorum Denies Making Anti-Black Remark

While campaigning in Iowa before the January 2012 caucus in the state, Pennsylvania politician Rick Santorum reportedly told a mostly white crowd that he didn’t want to “make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.” Santorum later denied saying “black people,” but to the masses that’s exactly what it sounded like he said. This led to criticism that Santorum singled out African Americans for being on public assistance in a state where they make up a tiny percent of the population and certainly don’t receive more federal aid there than whites. Nationwide, whites also receive more public assistance than blacks in part because whites make up a much large sharer of the U.S. population than African Americans do.
Ron Paul’s Newsletters

Texas Congressman Ron Paul didn’t spark a racial controversy for comments he made during the 2012 presidential campaign but with racist statements published in newsletters bearing in his name in the 1980s and the 1990s. Paul denies writing the newsletters but was haunted by the inflammatory remarks they contained. The newsletters describe black men in the nation’s capital as mostly “criminals” and appear to bemoan the fact that racial segregation is now illegal. A 1993 Ron Paul Survival Report newsletter stated, “It is human nature that like attracts likes. But whites are not allowed to express this same human impulse. Except in a de facto sense, there can be no white schools, white clubs, or white neighborhoods. The political system demands white integration, while allowing black segregation.”
Anti-Asian Smear Campaign Against Huntsman

Ron Paul found himself embroiled in yet another racial controversy when supporters of his launched a video attack ad against Republican rival Jon Huntsman just before the New Hampshire primary in January 2012. Called “Jon Huntsman’s Values,” the viral video takes aim at the fact that Huntsman adopted two children from Asia. The video also highlights Huntsman’s familiarity with Asian cultures and ability to speak Mandarin Chinese. The point of the video is to question whether Huntsman, who’s served as U.S. ambassador to China and Singapore, has American values or foreign values. The Paul campaign denounced the ad, which was widely panned as racist and xenophobic.

Just because you see "poor" meaning "black" does not make it so.

Many politicians see America as exceptional and the American Culture as an exceptional culture....not sure how it should be deemed as racist....but if it is, then we have racists on BOTH sides of the aisle.....running rampant!

And yet you STILL refuse to address the following:

Biden joked about Indian accents at convenience stores.

Reid referred to an Ive League educated US senator as "clean and articulate" when he was asked to give his opinion on the man.

Now...how are those NOT racist....but talking about poor people IS racist?

(fyi.....writing poor, and then putting parantheses around the word black is YOU paraphrasing what was said....it is not quoting what was said.)

You can barely spell "bigotry."

Darn sure you don't recognize any.

If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person alive.

Thanks so much for sharing Gayle, as well as being intolerant you've also made clear your propensity to be cavilous and to always attack the person and never the argument. In the spirit of this and all of your threads my retort will be simple and to the point: You are bitter, nasty, self righteous, arrogant and bright enough to know how to use a thesaurus making you at least two standard deviations south of how you want to be perceived.

Yet I smoke you like a Cuban cigar every time.

Strange, huh?

Yep. Your opinion of youself is quite strange, based as it is on an imagined reality. Ad hominem retorts are not only fatuous, they seem to be the only tool in your bag of tricks.

Seems you missed the essence of the OP: you've merely provided conjecture.....again.

I gave you data.

There was no data in that post. Nothing that backs up your charge anyway. He was a big part of the Republican party, so who should know better than an insider? That may not be data, but it is logic. I'll take that any day over what you gave us.

I know you're a fool.....but I didn't realize your eyesight was that bad.
Here, again...facts (data):

Colin Powell has been given honors that few of us ever accrue: He has been National Security Advisor, he has been Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, and even the United States Secretary of State.

2. Every one of those positions awarded at the behest of a Republican. And I’m certain he was aware of the political party that felt he deserves those awards. He even claimed to be a member of that party.

So...what I hear from you is that he should shut up and be grateful...even if he sees something is wrong.

oh...and by the way Sallow...

If you take the political rhetoric and spin out of what Giunbgrich said about "poor kids helping with the cleaning of the schools"....

You would have exactly what Barak Obama was overseeing when he was a community organizer.

Taking youth memebers of the local JCC...or the local Church....or the local grade school...and having trhem all pinch in to clean the graffitti, clean the play yard, paint the fences, paint new lines on the park baskletball courts or tennis courts, is something that has been done for decades..

But for political expediency, many decided to change what he said and it was presented as:

"lets get the black kids and make them clean our toilets. Its the best they can do with the little intelligence they have"

I think ANYONE who truly thought that was what he meant? Should be institutionaliozed.

However, if they knew what he meant, but opted to make believe they thought he meant otherwise for political advanatge? Those people should be ashamed of themselves.

Hard to know the true colors of a turncoat.

a turncoat? because he's mortified by the radical rightwingnuts who have hijacked his party?

lol..

you should have the same level of public service as he does... but keep sitting at your computer talking about someone like him.

Mortified? Let's be clear, he endorsed Obama because he is black...

Powell did a 180, nothing he stood for before his endorsement aligns with Obama, nothing!

Turncoat is being nice, there are some other words that would be more appropriate...

Powell is like obamination a piece of shit black that rode the racism card to the top and continues to use it for his own benefit, even after shaking down the white guilt panderers.

Powell went to a moron school in NYC, then joined the Army. Being a black officer gave him the advantage to move up in rank since at the time he was a rare breed and the Army wanted to look good promoting the black man.

He rose in rank then got on the DC GOP radar when he was a General thus was appointed CJCS because he must be good being a black General and it looked good for the GOP picking this black man.

He later weaseled his way into Bush Jr's White House but then quickly turned on them when Iraq became unpopular, so he joined the liberal cocktail circuit in DC and NYC bashing white GOPers as chickenhawks, war mongers and racists....it makes him good money.

He is just like obmination...he rode white guilt to the top then continues to blame white America to keep the money rolling into his bank account because he is a piece of shit.
^Illustrates EXACTLY what Powell was talking about.

No.

If he sees sopmething is wrong then he should say something.

But if the best he has is the word "lazy", then he should keep his opinion to himself. It is very dangerous to accuse people of racism......if you have proof...use it....if not, then dont claim it exists.

And lets be real...Sununu wanted Obama to look bad...yes...he is a pundit......but he has NEVER displayed any type of racism...and saying the word LAZY is proof that he is a racist? Well....its one hell of a stretch...and no one deserves that title based on such a stretch.

thats a HUGELY gross Mischaracterization of what he said, but, since you don't read anything but think-progress I guess thats to be expected.

your party dopey is chock full of "bona fide" racists as well, however, as you're a bleating
smiley%20sheep.gif
you allow the media to;

a) tell you who gets a first class ticket to the resurrection as new non racist diversity luvin' folk ( think Robert Bryd as opposed to Jesse Helms)

b) brainwash you into accepting their apologies ( if even offered) and buying stupid formulations so they can safely ignore their transgressions while beating the shit out of those not in the Democratic/Proggie bubble, as you did above ala the janitor thing, latching on to bare facsimiles of what was said.....while slobbering as you do about those they have told you to...

one day, it is my hope- you will think for yourself. :eusa_pray:

Powell is a racist, plain and simple. He saw his chance to "come out" when he saw obama get elected. Now he can play his race games and get away with it because there's a black president, and everybody knows that if you say anything against odumbo, then you're a racist, so if you say anything against powell now, well, you must be a racist for that too then, because they're both black.

Never mind the fact that's it's THEM that's THROWING OUT THE RACE CARD.

Double standard, hypocrites, they can say ****** but you can't, yeah, it all fits on them and the stupid libroid imbeciles here supporting this charade.

Ah, the Race Card Card again.

Maybe Colin Powell is putting his country before his party. What a traitor!

In the eye of the beholder, isn't it.

For example, even you probably believe you have the ability to judge rectitude on the political landscape.....

....when the reality is, you are one of those who 'can sail, but cannot navigate'

True?

True?

If he put his country before his party....

Then why didnt he express concern over Bidens "indian accents at 7-11" comment

Why didnt he express concern when the senate majority leader referred to a black man as "clean and articulate"

Is it just the word "lazy" that bothers him?

the PARTY did not call New York, Hymietown. that was the pos jessie jackson. he is not the democratic party.

as for powell not having integrity... having no integrity was bush/cheney sending him in front of the UN to lie in order to benefit from his political capital.

but no surprises that you're eating your own when he tells you the truth about your party.

Fail, Jill. Under the Powell Doctrine the words of one member of a Party means the entire Party believes that.

Or is Powell a liar?

really? jessie jackson speaks for no one but himself last i checked.

as for the powell doctrine, no doubt you have a link to that... or do you mean idiots like beck and limbot who you all drool over?

Well, then....does Obama speak for anyone but himself?

After all.....they both ran for President on the Democrat ticket.
