Yes, and the Democrats couldn't accept the possibility that very many would support such an unqualified fool as trump. We became complacent in our belief that Hillary couldn't lose. Many didn't bother to vote. Still others, assuming the election was a shoe in, voted third party to send some sort of silly message.
