On a hill
And once again we keep coming back to reality. If you want to watch a good movie, you need to turn the dial back a few decades.
Neither one of us had seen it before. A movie inspired by the water wars in southern California, and Water chief engineer William Mulholland. Even though Mulholland wasn't anything like the character in the film.
Anyway. It is a good movie. Well written, unforeseen twists and well developed characterization. Something Hollywood has forgotten about completely.

Classic..seen it a few times.

"The two Jakes" had a lame plot about oil exploration but at least Nicholson didn't have a bandage on his nose for most of the film.

I agree. The sequel Two Jakes is good but not as good as Chinatown. If you really like Chinatown and Jack Nicholson, you will probably like it. However, I found the story a bit hard to follow in places.
