Can Regressives Contrive a Better Invective Than "WOKE"?

The parrots need to be issued a better aspersion. The authoritarians who have seized control of the previously libertarian-leaning GOP need a better pejorative to demonize the opposition than one designating their enemies as being alert and cognizant.

Republican presidential hopefuls are vowing to wage a war on "woke," but a new USA TODAY/Ipsos Poll finds a majority of Americans are inclined to see the word as a positive attribute, not a negative one.

Fifty-six percent of those surveyed say the term means "to be informed, educated on, and aware of social injustices." That includes not only three-fourths of Democrats but also more than a third of Republicans.

Overall, 39% say instead that the word reflects what has become the GOP political definition, "to be overly politically correct and police others' words." That's the view of 56% of Republicans.

The findings raise questions about whether Republican campaign promises to ban policies at schools and workplaces they denounce as "woke" could boost a contender in the party's primaries but put them at odds with broader public opinion in the general election.

LOL
Yea, go with that during the election.

We didn't create the term woke, your experimental tribe in the hood came up with "stay woke y'all".

Correct.

It simply means not being an ignorant, frightened, hateful racist and bigot.
There should be a poll to select a less silly revilement than one that denounces your opponent for being socially conscious.

No, it seems to be getting under your skin quite well.

Woke started as a white liberal "get out of being a racist" free card. White liberals who did things like use the N-word or dressed up in blackface could say they didn't realize those things were offensive but now that they "woke" and won't do them anymore.

It was certainly regressive people who coined the term, as it originated among leftists playing very primitive tribal politics instead of following any principles or values.

The term, now popularized, is simply the best way to encapsulate this primitive leftist attitude of regarding people based upon tribal identity and not quality of character.

We Americans love our simple, one-word catch-all terms. Then we use the shit out of them and they (deservedly) become diluted and mocked punchlines.

The term "woke" really does mean something (my understanding is that it's adherence to PC and Identity Politics, which I'm also against), but soon it really won't mean anything due to spectacular over-use. Joining a long list of other important words the ends of the spectrum have diluted and trivialized.

Since we're no longer allowed to communicate, collaborate & innovate, perhaps soon we'll just be grunting monosyllabic words at each other and pointing.

Democrats are much better at originating labels for themselves that make them sound foolish and self-congratulatory.

Like when they stole the term "liberal" from classical liberals who wanted nothing to do with their big government personal life micromanagement policies. Not long after, they were running away from the word liberal like a welfare recipient from a job fair.

Ummmm, you asshats are the regressive. The ultimate goal of your side is to return to a two tier system.

A very small ruling elite, and a mass of serfs.

^^^This is a lie. Mac1958 is a Biden/Harris voter and is fully on-board with the identity politics of the administration.

Perchance, in keeping with their theme, the snivelers could call their cursed awakened "rooster dupes!"

Imitation is the sincerest form of flatulence.

There's no such thing as 'woke' as misrepresented and lied about by conservatives, another manifestation of white grievance politics and racist replacement theory.
