Breaking: Trump Takes Lead In Iowa; His Supporters Think Japanese Internment Was Good (So Do I)

Internment was right. It had to be done because we could not take any chances that the American Japs were helping the Empire of Japan in their efforts to defeat America. We just couldn't take any chances.

He is just copying democratic policies. When will the Democratic Party apoligize for Japanese internment?

On August 5, 1988 they issued a letter of Apology and payment that was signed by Ronald Reagan that year.

The House and Senate at that time were Democrat, so the apology was issued by leading Democrats.

Anymore stupid questions?

How is it disturbing?

If an anti-abortionist killed 14 Americans in a terror attack, would you support internment camps for pro-lifers?
Totally irrelevant.

ALL anti-abortion terrorists come out of the pro-life movement.
Totally irrelevant to the conversation about Japs [sic]. The hyphenated Japs [sic] had to be interned to protect our military and industrial assets.

A complete lie, you ignorant douche.

I think the internment of AZNs was a good idea based solely on the AZNs I've met on this board who are all :tinfoil:

Tipsy is saying that his kind, 74 years ago were saying to put the Japanese behind barbed wire or Tipsy kind would kill them. If true, we can be thankful that kind of criminal nonsense is no longer tolerated.
Saying that you are thankful we no longer tolerate such nonsense is a very different thing than saying we were never the kind of people who would perpetrate such nonsense when obviously we were.
Immaterial statement. FDR should have told California, and Governor Earl Warren would have folded, that FDR would declare martial law in those areas in California that rioted against the Japanese American civilians. Any individuals who participated in such riots would be, with their families, interned.
FDR had more to deal with than an insurrection of the very people he needed to support the war effort. What a stupid thing to say.

There were more internment camps than just California.

You are really a dumbfuck. Don't be a really, really, dumbfuck. It was a war. Accommodation of the Japanese would have caused an eruption across the entire country. We were a different people in those days. We didn't believe in kumbaya.

NOT throwing innocent, loyal AMERICANS into fucking concentration camps is not "accommodation," it's following the Constitution (At a minimum).
The question was: did the Japanese-Americans ever vote Democratic again? Where's the fallacy?

It's non causa pro causa, you dimwit.

If this thread is only about the Japanese-Americans and WWII, why isn't it in History instead of Politics?

Because internment camps are wrong. And to see someone suggest bringing them back would damage America's image irreparably.

Internment camps did not damage our image when we threw the Japs in them. When the war was over after we nuked the nips, we celebrated and we were celebrated by other nations as savior to the world.

That was then, this is now. In case of WWIII, the US would probably intern people like you, steve.

Finally as long as we were at it we decided we’d ask people if they thought Japanese internment had been a good idea. Among Trump voters 48% say they support the use of internment during World War II, to only 21% who say they oppose it. Overall just 29% of Republicans support that to 39% opposed, and supporters of all the other candidates are against it- 29/33 with Cruz voters, 23/54 with Rubio’s, 12/48 with Carson’s, and 13/56 with Bush’s.

Just more evidence the far right are totalitarian pigs who only support small government and the Constitution when it suits them.
Beat chest like tarzan.

Not immediately no. But in retrospect, it is a blight on the American image. Yes, we helped save the world from Hitler and Hirohito, but we interred innocent Japanese American citizens who had nothing to do with the Japanese war effort in camps and treated them like caged animals and suspended their constitutional rights among other things. History has a way of making people think. I don't know why you would consider such a thing, Steve.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

For lack of a better word, "image" is what I used. What FDR did was un-American. What Trump is suggesting is un-American. It is contradictory to what America stands for.

Will you ever tell us who you want to intern?

Iowa is weird...It goes to the most radical prick on the republican side but hasn't voted for republican in the general since Bush...

And the amazing part of this is the reality that it will most likely go to Hillary if you run a loserterian that the dumb fucks voted for in the primary. Same with Maine. lol
