...Then there’s this bombshell at BlackFive from a former Delta operator:

Having spent a good bit of time nursing a GLD (ground Laser Designator) in several garden spots around the world, something from the report jumped out at me.

One of the former SEALs was actively painting the target. That means that Specter WAS ON STATION! Probably an AC130U. A ground laser designator is not a briefing pointer laser. You do not “paint” a target until the weapons system/designator is synched; which means that the AC130 was on station.

Only two places could have called off the attack at that point; the WH situation command (based on POTUS direction) or AFRICOM commander based on information directly from the target area.

If the AC130 never left Sigonella (as Penetta says) that means that the Predator that was filming the whole thing was armed.

If that SEAL was actively “painting” a target; something was on station to engage! And the decision to stand down goes directly to POTUS!

This is HUGE. It should be obvious by now that someone is not telling the truth.

They do not give the name of this "retired Delta operator". And he conjures up a Predator out of thin air. Where do any of the sources mention a Predator was on the scene? Anyone have a quote and source?

No, you don't.

As for the decision to stand down being soley in the hands of the President, that is the biggest crock of shit I have ever heard.

As for the Fox News story which is the source of this malarkey, once again, no names are mentioned. And since it is Fox News, it is not unlikely they got a lot of their facts wrong, vis a vis "painting the target". And there is no mention of a Predator on the scene recording everything.

The security officer may have had a LD ready to paint the target, and let HQ know he had one. That does not mean he was actively designating.

Approach hyperbole with caution.

To not upset his Narrative that the Forces we brought to power in Libya are Democratic, and everything is great there of course.

That is why they not only refused extra Security, but were actually removing Security. They did not want the Fact that since the Fall of Gaddafi things have gone down hill in Libya, or the idea that Al Qaeda is on the rise across North Africa, to come out. At least not before the election.

Fox News has learned that there were two military surveillance drones redirected to Benghazi shortly after the attack on the consulate began. They were already in the vicinity. The second surveillance craft was sent to relieve the first drone, perhaps due to fuel issues. Both were capable of sending real time visuals back to U.S. officials in Washington, D.C. Any U.S. official or agency with the proper clearance, including the White House Situation Room, State Department, CIA, Pentagon and others, could call up that video in real time on their computers.

It says the drones were deployed at the beginning of the attack.

It also says there was a period of several hours when the fighting stopped before the mortar attack started. The morter team is what the security officer was supposedly designating. But that was several hours after the drones had been in the area. They were most likely not in the area when the mortar attack began.

There are also several types of drones. The story does not say they were Predators. Predators are capable of carrying Hellfire missiles. Other drones are not.

It should also be pointed out the story says the drones were capable of sending real time videos back to DC. It does not say they were.

It will take a while to sort out what really happened. This is not the time to leap to any conclusions.
