These boards aren't FREE. First off vBulletin charges you an arm and a leg just for the software for the board, then you have to pay for web hosting, and that's not free either, and then on top of that you have countless hours of tweaking and maintenance on the board, not to mention the chore of having to deal with all the crap that comes from certain posters on the board.

A long time ago I negotiated with this boards original owner and creator to buy it from him. Now I'm glad I didn't. I'd have probably sold it by now. It can be a very large head ache and certainly a drain on your wallet, so I think asking board members to contribute to the board is completely warranted.

plus you need to let people know when they use their paypal...it becomes an automatic charge each year....or it renews itself for ya....this may not be the case now but it was a few years ago....

As of this post, I hope not to be renewing when it comes time, as I don't want the gross looking colors next to my user and would prefer to have what the rest of the contributing members have---just the plain blue. ( hoping that doesn't morph into something else )

Sometimes less is more, ya know? If we can't return to the original color of dark blue in bold, then I plan to opt out of Supporting Membership. I will miss the flag next to my user, though.

all posters are equal except the ones that give the board cash....i would think contributors are the ones donating the 100 bucks a month....i wonder when they will up that goal...so you got a color for paying or supporting members that pay the yearly fee...and then the contributors who kick in cash towards the monthly 100 and then the cheap ass people who use the site for free....

and the admins want you to know who is paying and who is not....all posters are created equal....lol

perhaps they can change the motto to 'where your cash counts'

oh hell no bones! Its not a monthly fee...and i think its was 20 bucks a year. I could care less about the color, i did like the bold and little flag.... the perk i wanted becasue i am a lazy ass..is the huge pm storage.
