This might just be in China, I'm sure that the majority of Athiests do not eat cats and dogs or make shoes from them.

China has many cruel practices, their treatment of cats and dogs is as bad as paedophilia, I put it at that level and I don't want to elaborate because it's just too distressing to even be reminded of.

Animals are innocent and they give unconditional love and many of them in China are butchered alive and boiled alive and it's beyond heinous and people that do such things such be treated in the same way you'd treat someone who did such things to a child.

Don´t bother packing your winter clothes when you die because you won´t be needing them.

Animals, especially cats and dogs are very special creatures, they can even literally keep someone alive, when someone for instance has nobody and feels there's no reason to live or whatever, get that person a cat or a dog and it's incredible how therapeutic on all levels that is, it gives that person something to live for because they have to care for the animal and of course the animal will give them unconditional love and the whole process means they feel they have a reason to stick around.

This is why psychologists highly recommend animals as a part of therapy.
