Following historic floods across the Greater Houston area last spring, county and city entities have worked on a number of projects to address flood mitigation and water rescue challenges in the Tomball and Magnolia areas.
Local officials said the April 2016 and Memorial Day 2015 floods were 500-year events—meaning affected areas have a 0.2 percent chance of flooding in a given year, according to the Harris County Flood Control District.
“[It was] unprecedented to have two 500-year storms back to back,” Tomball Public Works Director David Esquivel said. “With that being said, I don’t know if there’s any one entity that’s going to design for that kind of storm event.”

Climate Change may be occurring. That said, it is not a result of AGW. However, if the free market were allowed to operate as is should, this would not necessarily be as much of a problem as it should be. Keynesian economics takes advantage of disasters, as in their view, they are actually GOOD for the economy, just as war is. Big Government loves a good disaster, just as they love a good war. This is why you folks suck up this propaganda and drink the kool-aid thinking that government is the solution.

NOTHING has been done for Flint, not by the Republicans, or the Democrats. The folks that are helping the folks still, are grass roots efforts, the charities and local efforts are keeping these people afloat. Government is the problem, just like it always is.

Disasters are always an excuse for government to seize more power and more control, nothing more. So poor planning and poor execution, fostering dependency of the private sector upon government which causes disasters are always good for government. If you can get folks to believe that these are acts of nature, rather than the incompetency of man made bureaucratic systems, that is only good for securing more government control.

In 1824, Joseph Fourier, the great French polymath, stated that there had to be something in the atmosphere that absorbed outgoing radiation, or else the oceans would be frozen down to the equator. In 1859, Tyndall measured the absorption of IR by the gases in the atmosphere, and in 1896, Svante Arrhenius made the first, and pretty accurate, estimate for how much warming would occur for doubling the CO2 in the atmosphere.

Of course, Levin and you are ignorant of all of that, and, indeed, almost every other aspect of science.
