Besieged Ghetto? Gaza Water Park Opens

Conservative Underground - Bargain Prices for 'Zionist' Clothes in New Gaza Luxury Mall

While Hamas continues to complain that Gaza lacks building materials, a luxury mall in Gaza City held its grand opening over the weekend. Among the goods on sale are Israeli men's clothing, and items from Turkey, France, and the United States.

Photojournalist Tom Gross, who publicized photos from Saturday's event on his website, noted that the opening coincided with a visit to Gaza from European Union foreign policy director Catherine Ashton. "The BBC and other media have featured extensive reports all day long on what they term the dire economic situation in Gaza; why are they not mentioning the new shopping mall that opened there yesterday?” Gross asked.

Pictures of the new mall were featured on the Palestinian Authority Safa website and by the Associated Press.

A variety of stores sell cosmetics, clothing, office supplies, toys, shoes, appliances and more. The mall boasts air conditioning and a delivery service.

Hamas has often accused Israel of creating a "siege" by keeping its border crossings to Gaza closed. According to Hamas, Gaza lacks electricity and building supplies.

What country is that in?

In Turkey, life expectancy is 72.23 and infant mortality is 24.84 per 1,000 births.
In Gaza, life expectancy is 73.68 and infant mortality is 17.71 per 1,000 births.

Turkey has a literacy rate of 88.7% while in Gaza it is 91.9%. (It is much lower in Egypt and other Arab countries where Israel did not establish colleges and universities in the 1970s and 1980s.)

Gaza’s GDP is almost as high as Turkey’s and much, much higher than most of Africa that gets 1,000th of the aid per capita that Gaza gets from the West.

World hunger organizations report that 10-15 million children below the age of 5 die each year, and 50,000 people die daily. One-third of all deaths in the world are due to poverty.

While famine kills millions of children in Africa, India, and elsewhere, life expectancy for Gaza Arabs, at 72 years, is nearly five years higher than the world average. In Swaziland, for example, life expectancy is less than 40 years, and it is 42 years in Zambia.

Meanwhile Western governments, misled by Western media, continue to pour more and more money into Gaza for people that don’t need it, while allowing black Africans to starve to death.

As the correspondent for one of Japan’s biggest newspapers said to me last week, “Gaza and the West Bank are the only places in the world where I have seen refugees drive Mercedes.”

No country if they continue to be the fools they've been for the last sixty years of their heartache.

Israel's siege is crumbling. Then the Palestinian government can exercise sovereignty over a part of their country. The Palestinians in Gaza are already better off in many ways then they are in the West Bank.

This could get interesting.

The unemployment rate is 45.2% in Gaza and the Hamas government employs 53% of the workforce, which means the private sector employs only 7.8% of the workforce, and according to you the dummies in Hamas think this means they're doing a good job.

How so ? Considering that Isreal killed Hamas's guy on camera and got away with it.

Israel has destroyed hundreds of Palestinian factories. Israel will not allow the import of raw material or the export of finished products.

Israel has destroyed food production facilities including Gaza's only flour mill.

Israel has destroyed water sources.

Israel has destroyed 1/3 of Gaza's agricultural land. Palestine historically produced a surplus of food that it exported. Israel blocks the export of food.

The unemployment in Gaza is created by Israel.

This is standard Israeli policy that began long before Hamas became Israel's boogyman.

Israeli military bulldozers raze factories, bulldoze farmland in Gaza, fire indiscriminately at residential areas

IMEMC – Israeli soldiers driving, armored vehicles and armored bulldozers, invaded on Thursday an area east of the Gaza Strip and demolished Palestinian factories in the industrial zone near the Al Mintar(Karni) Crossing.

After bulldozing the Palestinian factories, the army continued to bulldoze and uproot agricultural lands, and also destroyed electricity transformer stations.

The violence and limitations in Gaza have all been in response to Palestinian Arab terrorism, mostly from Hamas, even before their takeover of the government. Even before the second intifada, when economic growth in the West Bank soared, out pacing economic growth of all the ME countries, including Israel, Gaza's economy was stagnant because the various terrorists made severe security measures necessary, however, the actions of the Hamas government since their takeover of the government forbidding commerce to take place through the Israeli crossings have dealt a fatal blow to whatever private sector existed there.

If the various Palestinian Arab militants in Gaza were really freedom fighters, it is clear they would be arresting or killing the Hamas thugs that have destroyed their economy and foreclosed on any future prosperity.

Occupiers always have security problems. It comes with the (occupied) territory. You can't blame the Palestinians for wanting to throw off the occupation.
