It sometimes feels like you see a bunch of Barbie dolls on any given night out in Dubai, but a collection of the actual toys is currently showing at Mall of the Emirates. Twenty-four rare Barbie dolls, decked out in outfits created by the likes of Versce and Oscar De La Renta, have been rented from two Italian collectors – both of whom are male.
The dolls will be on display at the mall’s Central Galleria until Tuesday, September 8. “The most iconic Barbie is blonde with blue eyes,” admits Jagoda Rozkrut, Senior Brand Manager at Barbie, Emerging Markets.
However, nowadays there’s “huge diversity” in the Barbie lines, she adds. “We want our dolls to reflect what girls see around them.”
