So now he's all for raising Taxes during a Recession and raising the Debt Limit? Why the sudden change of heart? I think he owes the American People a credible explanation for these astounding Flip-Flops. Crazy stuff for sure.

Geithner already outed the real reason: To Prevent Government From Shrinking.

All of Obama's obfuscations are designed to conceal this fact because he knows that the majority of the public wants the government to shrink.

1. o surprise republicans won a midterm election after the previous election was decided by young voters. Look at voter turn out and then tell me the republicans have a "mandate". The concept of a mandate, no matter who uses it, is a totally created concept created to give the illusion that the country wants one ideology, when really its always fairly split.

2. Harsh austerity programs can lead to a cyclical economic downturn. Thats what happened to greece. They got bailed out and cut back the government, so GDP and revenue fell. So they were in the same situation and now need a second bailout and more austerity programs and it wont work again.

Government does provide a source for jobs for a few hundred thousand people, maybe a few million. Those jobs lost are going to decrease buying power. You need to freeze government and make cuts without massive layoffs.

A simplified tax code would also be awesome. Im a liberal, but i could go along with a lower corporate tax rate. Lower rate rate, less exemptions. Id like a revenue increase but i think the simple fact that the tax code is simpler would free up corporate resources.

Yes, his Trillion dollar shot in the dark failed so it's time to let they American people bail his ass out.

70% of the stimulus of the last 3 years has BEEN tax cuts. If stimulus isn't working, it's mostly tax cuts that aren't working.

Temporary tax credits and reductions in payroll taxes are not stimulative because they are Temporary. And Obama's Galactically Stupid energy and monetary policies have driven up inflation to the point where the $250 here and $1,000 there are gobbled up on gasoline, heating oil, and food for the typical family. Spending money on inflated prices doesn't do anything to foster real economic growth or productivity.

The rise in inflation has been lower than the rise in GDP which means its not going to cause a real impact on consumer buying power. You keep pointing to inflation but give me one stat the proves obama has caused inflation. he hasnt. Every summer energy prices go up, you cant even pin energy prices on obama.

The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) declared yesterday that the Great Recession was officially over as of June 2009.



Now you should thank Obama for getting us out of that recession.

Now its time to raise taxes
