For how long? We can no longer afford sustained war. I, for one, am tired of paying for it. I can't believe your argument for more war is that we should keep doing it because we have been for so long. People are dying because of our bombs you realize that right? Those people have families too. What if your child was killed by a chinese bomb? How would you feel? Would you want to attack China? Can you blame people for wanting to attack us when our bombs cause "collateral damage"? The first step towards peace should be a cessation of hostilities. Maybe if we make an effort towards peace and stand down and say "O.K. show us you can police yourselves and we will back off" then maybe just maybe the world will be better. We can maintain our military might but just bring them home.

The thing is that Paul manages to take a reasonable proposition- that there really isn't all that much we can do to stop Iran from getting a nuke and it isn't a big deal if they have one- and makes it sound crazy.

There is an argument to be made that the US can't be the world's policeman anymore when we are running up debts of 1.5 trillion a year, and that we should step back and let others step up. We spend more on our military than the rest of the world combined and the next 10 biggest spenders are our allies.

Unfortunately, Paul makes it sound like he's expecting Black Helicopters to fly over your house to track the microchip in your butt.

The more I keep seeing from the government in terms of the NDAA, the patriot act, the Real ID, the NSA domestic spying, and the many others along these lines, the less strange the idea of them wanting to put microchips in butts sounds.

You may be right that it is human nature to go to war. But why do the other 6B people in the world manage to avoid it far more often then us? When is the last time that Canada went into a war that they weren't just following us into?
