At one time, liberals were outraged that the government would spy on a US citizen.

Under Bush, warrentless wiretapping of US citizerns caused outrage by the liberals. What changed?

AG Barr Suggests Multiple Intel Agencies Involved In Anti-Trump Spy Op

“Spying on a political campaign is a big deal,” Attorney General William Barr told a Senate committee on Wednesday morning. Barr’s comments came in the context of potential Justice Department reviews of the Trump-Russia investigation and how it began in 2016.

While it is important that the top law enforcement in the United States publicly acknowledged that the Obama administration and its intelligence agencies surveilled its domestic political opponents during the heat of a presidential election, it is what he said next that was most startling: that the CIA and other federal agencies in addition to the FBI may have been involved. “I’m not talking about the FBI necessarily, but intelligence agencies more broadly,” he said.

At one time, Americans were outraged that a foreign adversary would try to interfere with our elections.

No more, for half of us anyway.
Lol, Mueller said no collusion.

Here's the a summary of the FBI's Investigation of Clinton where it clears her of all charges about her supposed "Illegal" email server.

"In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts."

There have always been indications that the operation went far beyond the FBI, however. For example, former CIA director John Brennan, now an MSNBC contributor, separately briefed Sen. Harry Reid, (D-Nev.) about the operation. Reid understood that move was undertaken so he could publicize the Russia investigation to influence the ongoing presidential election campaign.

Former director of national intelligence James Clapper, now a CNN contributor, admitted to discussions with media outlets about the investigation. The U.S. embassy in London was used contrary to established protocol to funnel hearsay that was used as a pretext to officially launch a wide-ranging investigation against the entire Trump orbit. Clinton-connected officials in the State Department were also used to disseminate unverified gossip and allegations about Trump throughout the federal government.

The use of covert individuals to surreptitiously obtain information on private American citizens and share it with the government is the most obvious publicly known indication that agencies beyond the FBI may have been intimately involved in the operation. It is clearly possible that every single instance of intelligence collection was done entirely by the FBI without any assistance from any other federal intelligence agency. However, that has not been determined by any investigative body.

The use of Stefan Halper, for example, a London-based American academic with longstanding ties to the FBI, CIA, and Defense Department, raises serious questions about whether CIA assets or resources were used against American citizens. Following Nixon-era domestic spying abuses by the U.S. intelligence community, oversight bodies restricted the authority of the CIA to spy on U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.

Remember back in the day under George W.(liberal republican) Bush when he enacted the FISA courts to battle terrorism, and if someone overseas was conversing with a US citizen, they FISA were allowed to warrantless wiretap on said US citizen. The left went crazy about civil liberties...Why doesnt it bother you today, liberals, that our government has spied on a US citizen without proper vetting of a bogus dossier, that was paid for by the DNC? Have you gone so far down the FASCIST path that you will allow your government to do such a dirty dead?

As a libertarian, I see this every single regime change. Democrats and Republicans only "care" about civil liberties when they're not in power.

Poll: Americans support impeaching Bush for wiretapping
ecently White House spokesman Scott McClellan cited a Rasmussen poll that found 64% believe the NSA "should be allowed to intercept telephone conversations between terrorism suspects." Of course, that is exactly what Congress authorized when it created the FISA courts to issue special expedited secret warrants for terrorism suspects. But Bush defied the FISA law and authorized warrantless wiretaps of Americans, which has outraged Americans to the point that a majority believe Congress should consider Bush's impeachment.
Since it is still going on, do you support impeaching Trump?

They were right. Dumb ass W should have been impeached but so should have Big Ears, when he not only continued the illegal spying but expanded it.
Trump has continued the practice. So you believe he should be impeached, too? How deep does your hypocrisy go?

I'm not interested in your RW conspiracy tripe.
You break it down.

Tell us who spied and when. Tell us what if anything was used against Trump.

Remember, there was not even public confirmation of an investigation involving the Trump campaign until after he was sworn in as president.

Trump signs bill renewing NSA's internet surveillance program

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said he signed into law a bill renewing the National Security Agency’s warrantless internet surveillance program, sealing a defeat for digital privacy advocates.

“Just signed 702 Bill to reauthorize foreign intelligence collection,” Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to legislation passed by the U.S. Congress that extends Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

The law renews for six years and with minimal changes the National Security Agency (NSA) program, which gathers information from foreigners overseas but incidentally collects an unknown amount of communications belonging to Americans.

How does it let her off? Do you imagine Barr is constrained in any way by Comey's worthless opinion? It's likely Comey is headed for prison for his "investigation" (white wash) of Hillary.
