They are called minority for a reason.Republicans can't continue to lose 93% of the black votes for president and 76% of the Hispanic votes and compete with Democrats in the future. They have to change or they will become irrelevant. You can call it appealing or pandering but they have to capture a larger segment of the minority vote.
Revisionist bullshit! In the mid 20th century the solid South was broken. Although many Southern Democrats stayed in the party and remained loyal locally, they ceased support nationally, voting Republican in presidential elections. As hatred for integration, civil rights, and the federal government grew so did the strength of the Republican party in the South. As blacks entered the Democratic party whites left. It wasn't that whites embraced the Republican Party, they just couldn't remain loyal to a party which was rapidly turning black and electing blacks to public office. You need only look at a political map of the South to see the results.
But when those minorities become the majority, the party has to change or die. Republicans have much bigger problem now. They are called minority for a reason.Republicans can't continue to lose 93% of the black votes for president and 76% of the Hispanic votes and compete with Democrats in the future.
