2. If you want to own a HANDGUN or an ASSULT weapon then you are responsible for gun control. IF you lose control, as in the weapon is used in a crime, then you are also held responsible. Even if the gun were stolen. If you want to have a killer dog then you must keep that dog away from society. If it escapes and hurts someone then you will be found responsible. It could be no different with hand guns and assault weapons. You have the freedom to own them you just have to have the responsibility to control them.

Add that all private gun sales must go through the same background check as the ones from licensed dealers.

I'd also make it illegal to sell high capacity magazines to individuals. I mean seriously. Currently we have 30 round clips, up from 8-12 rounds before reloading. Before that we had six shooters. Before that we had single shot breech loaders. Before that we could maybe get 3 rounds a minute off with ball and powder. How hard would it be to create 100 round clips? Not very.

Note that this doesn't impact the right of an individual to own and bear arms. It's now the responsibility of the seller.

Somehow, the USA went from its inception to the mid-1960s before we experienced a major school mass shooting (University of Texas...1966). Since then, it has gone to High School, Middle School, and now Kindergarten. What happened? Guns were available all of that time (couple hundred years). Why all of the violence now?

These are not the guns I grew up with. Those were lever or bolt action hunting rifles. These guns are civilian knockoffs of guns designed only for the killing of other human beings. And that is how they are being used.

Also, there was not the glorification of the killing of one fellow human being. Look at the number of magazines in the grocery store with war weopons on the front cover. Guns usefull only for killing other humans.

But the supporters of the NRA make big money selling their sick wares to very sick Americans.

Yes, I am angry. I have had enough. I want to see the end of the NRA, they have harmed this nation enough.

I'm guessing it's Wayne LaPierre's accepting weapons-industries' lobbying-buck$ that's the bigger-problem.

Here, in PA, the NRA has a looooooooooooooong tradition o' promoting gun/hunting safety. Most-of-us attended gun-safety courses, long-before our teens.

It should be common-knowledge (by now), that there are numerous NRA-members who've had a gut-full o' LaPierre, and his political/financial-agenda!!!!​

Knife-wielding man injures 22 school-children in China​

A knife-wielding man slashed 22 children and an adult at an elementary school in central China on Friday, state media reported, the latest in a series of attacks on schoolchildren in the country.

The man attacked the children at the gate of a school in Chenpeng village in Henan province, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man, identified as villager Min Yingjun, Xinhua said. It did not give further details of the extent of the injuries.

There have been a series of attacks on schools and schoolchildren around China in recent years, some by people who have lost their jobs or felt left out of the country's economic boom.

The rash of violence has prompted public calls for more measures to protect the young in a country where many couples only have one child.

Seems that Democrats released all those mentally ill from the asylums back in the 60's, then Hollywood started making those shoot-em ups and continues till today. What effect does that have on the mentally disturbed? But let's not solve the problem. Let's blame it on guns. Yes, there have been instances when private gun owners with CCP's have stopped these crazed individuals. Honest gun owners on a daily basis have stopped crime and physical injury to others and themselves. Before we ban guns think about what we do when there's a drunk or drug addled person behind the wheel of a car. Do we ban auto ownership? No we go after the drunk or druggie. I would like to see what happens to those states that have legalized marijuana in a few years when their accident rates skyrocket. Will they be be taking cars away from the public?
