Another gun free zone tragedy the city of New York

The incident in NYC was not one of mass murder, not even mass shootings. A man shot another man. He didn't shoot anyone else. Then the police started shooting and hit nine people, none of whom died, and they hit the shooter who did. The police need to go down to the range and practice.

Wiki?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your New York State pistol license is only valid in the counties outside the 5 counties of New York City. Unless it is validated by New York City. You may not take your handguns into the city, this includes Self Protection licensees, with a few exceptions.

So thanks for admitting that NYC isn't a gun free zone like you claimed it was.

You honestly fucking believe that some dude who was set on killing a coworker with a gun is going to be stopped by an armed civilian? You think the armed civilian is going to get the jump on the surprise killer?

Yeah okay.

Bigrednec is really Bruce Willis.
Haven't you seen what he can do in movies?

Katz,Your stupidity is really showing this AM. In case you didn't know the police do practice their shooting. Many studies have shown how hard it is to hit what you are aiming at when: someone is shooting at you, there is a crowd, your adrenaline is really pumping, you and your target are moving and you are scared and don't exactly know the situation.

Do you really think those cops were not trying to hit just the guy with the gun? And still ended up causing injury to what, 7 different people.

But Cowman has you all down pat. You gun nuts think you are John Wayne and Bruce Willis all rolled into one. Fantasy land is where you all live. And Briman hits everything he aims at........on the range. Tell me bri, is shooting on the range just like combat? Do those targets fire back?

Sure would have been better if 20 people had pulled guns and just started firing away. Who knows how many could'ev been killed.

Not agreeing with Katz or Reb, because they are idiots...

But hitting 9 pedestrians shows that there was some serious recklessness on the part of the police. The kind that usually ends up in millions in settlements.

I'm saying that the police had deplorable aim, since the accounts do say that the shooter didn't even shoot at the police. He pointed his gun at the police but didn't fire. Seven people were shot by the police, so either the police need some target practice, or seven people deliberately put themselves in the line of fire. Which is it? If the police were "scared" and shooting that wildly, then they should either get more training so as not to be scared or not be police.

Citizens with guns would have been much better...I've seen it in the movies.

Johnson was followed by a construction worker who could have dropped him before the police even got there.

The question is, was Johnson a danger to anyone else? Likely not since he didn't even try to shoot anyone else. He intended to shoot one man and did. If he did not have a gun, he would have used a knife, or a baseball bat, or some other weapon, a brick to the side of the head.

\Dumbass it's spelled BIGREBNC

Nothing libs can say will change the solid fact that this is not a mass shooting. It only became a mass shooting because the police were recklessly shooting.

You're dead right.
It would have been much safer to have a crowd of untrained citizens blazing away.

It doesn't matter how it's spelt, it's the pronunciation that matters...bigrednec!

From what actually happened, there is nothing to assume that armed citizens wouldn't be better trained than the police.

What caused seven bystanders to get shot? They didn't get out of the line of fire, or the police skirted training and range practice? Citizens who are armed, particularly ones who carry, generally go regularly to the range because they enjoy the practice. The police may have fudged the numbers as as not to waste their time.

I joke all the time about LAPD and how ineffective they have become since the rules were changed. I generally have no respect for our local cops as touchy feely thumb suckers. Yet, I can't recall the last time the police had a similar situation and seven bystanders were shot. LA has officer involved shootings more than NYC without innocent people getting shot. Now it may be that Angelenos are just more adept at getting out of the way.
