    There's lots of information emerging about Europeans being in North America much earlier than previously thought. This article reveals evidence of Spanish/Basque presence in this city in what is now Canada.

    This is not surprising since the Basques were very active in fishing Cod off the Grand Banks, perhaps even before Columbus.
