An Observation

Who said anything about landing Air Force One on a carrier? Noting that it was only 30 miles off the coast, why couldn't he have taken Marine One?

Marine 1 may have not have had the proper configuration or avionics required for carrier take offs and landings.

If you believe that, I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona you may be interested in. He flew in on the plane because he wanted to look macho.

I retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. What is your qualification to make the observation you made.

So how many other times has a president dressed up and played pilot?

Thank you. You don't know jack shit about anything military other than what you can google or get from the DNC as a talking point.....have a nice day.

would you say that Clinton had no right to bomb Iraq or go after Bosnia because he dodged the draft?
and wasn't Bush's plane supposed to go to Vietnam?

Clinton was elected president, and in holding that office was commander-in-chief. Same goes for Bush. My issue is with Bush trying to pretend like he was some great military hero.

and where .... exactly did President Bush make himself out to be "some great military hero".

Seems to me Kerry was the one doing that until he got his lying ass "swiftboated".

George W Bush: "I've been to war. I've raised twins. If I had a choice, I'd rather go to war."

Here's the problem the only two so-called third parties are the Grean party and the Libertarian Party. The two of them together have yet to manage to muster as much as 6% of the vote and almost all of that goes to the libertarians.

The reason for that is simply that the number of people who are truely radical environmentalists is vanishingly small and the number of people who are both socilally liberal and fiscally conservative is also quite small. In fact if the REpublicans actually did manage to toss out all the socially conservative Christian and thos decided to start their own political party they would almost immediately become the country's second largest party.

Looks like that story and quote was a load of horseshit. Nothing on Snopes, nothing on any legitimate news site. Only left wing loon websites.
The link to CNN FAILS to show anything.

and technically...the country went to war on September 11, 2001 against Al Qaeda and the Taliban ruled Afghanistan....so the quote...as of January of 2002 was correct.

It's amazing how one needs to dig so deep to find these Boasts. Like it's been shouted from the roof tops or something.

Now now now, he never said anything like that.

I know Marine One is a modified SH-3 Sea King and that SH-3's are launched from carriers all the damn time. Of course, you've already decided that Bush had a totally legitimate reason for doing it, even though it was a stunt in the eyes of anyone watched who had at least half a brain.

You don't know SHIT from shinola when it comes to a SH-3.

You never served anything other than yourself so don't pretend to be some sort of expert. You're out of your league pal.

Federation of American Scientists :: H-3 Sea King

The H-3 is a twin engine, all-weather helicopter. The SH-3H model is used by the Navy Reserves to detect, classify, track and destroy enemy submarines. It also provides logistical support and a search and rescue capability. The UH-3H model is utility configured for logistical support and search and rescue missions. The VH-3A model supports the Executive Transport Mission. The first version of this workhorse helicopter was flown more than 35 years ago. The Sea King has been replaced by the SH-60F Sea Hawk helicopters as the anti-submarine warfare helicopter. The transition was completed in the mid 1990s. The remaining Sea King helicopters have been configured for logistical support and search and rescue missions.

I earned a political science degree back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Nevertheless, I had my world turned upside down in the past few months, especially yesterday. Contrary to my cynicism, way more Americans turned out yesterday to protest the out of control spending on the federal level than I could have dreamed of.

The implications of yesterday are huge heading into 2010. Unless something happens which make the average Joe or Jane believe the administration, which is unlikely, there will be a turnover in Congress the likes of which have not been seen in many a year, if ever.

I think the liberals who have been operating under the assumption that the majority of people are behind them are in for the biggest wake up call. They're going to find out just how much people hate THEM, and their big government, take control of everything, out of control spending, socialist agenda.

Decency is always Rise to the top. Both sides best realize that and come to terms with it.

It's got little to do with decency. Politicians better start REPRESENTING the people that PUT THEM THERE. That's what it boils down to. Instead of these rat bastards promising their tails off during a campaign and then hitting Washington and FORGETTING everything they said, and acting on their OWN behalf as per what LOBBYIST pays them the most money.

Or other perks that go along with their personal desires.

They are just doing what some of us knew they would. The End does not justify the means. Controlling the angry mob fixes nothing. Honest Support from Us requires Integrity, not slogans and false promises. Nothing is for nothing.

Exactly... I don't have much trust or faith in ANY politician, but REAL MEN like Joe Wilson are giving me hope.
