Some of them asked for my help to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Some of them were hesitant with lets wait and see attitude - all of them got vaccinated as soon as they were mandated.

I was required to get a Flu shot every year I was in the Air Force.

I also had to get a number of vaccines for the possible diseases that were in areas of the world in which I may be assigned.

As for it fitting the definition of a vaccine, that is for the courts to decide. For now, it is labeled a 'vaccine' and comes under a lawful order.

As you say, if it causes more harm than any benefit it provides (which is a pretty low bar to achieve since it provides damn near no benefit at all), then compensation maybe forthcoming.
