Actually, the requirement that insurance companies "cover" people who are already sick is what's making the premiums go up. The mandate was just a reach-around to get the insurance companies to play along. Looks like they got suckered along with the rest of us!

We're getting premium increases regardless. The mandate just forces us to pay the higher premiums.

When the consumer is stripped of the right to say "no" to a product or service that, in their view, isn't worth the asking price, there is no free market. Under ACA health care consumers are reduced to chattle, to be herded and coerced according to the needs of those controlling the regulatory apparatus. And guess who that is. Hint: it sure as fuck ain't "We the People".
