Abortion and birth control: Crazy sexy stupid

If teaching abstinence worked we would not have such a high rate of teen pregnancies.

Teaching about condoms and the pill works so much better. :cuckoo:

Why don't you try pulling your head out of your ass and admit that sex education, in any form, has no impact on teen pregnancy? Does it cause a short circuit in your brain when facts conflict with your opinions?

Teens have sex

They always have and they always will. I would rather they know about birth control than not

I wouldn't bother man, these dumb fucks think abstinance is the only way.

Agreed. But why would you oppose also telling them that no birth control method is as effective as abstinance?

Wouldn't he already be fucking himself if his head is up his ass ?

I blelieve in a comprehensive program, but with that said ANY curriculum is only as good as the teachers who are teaching and the students who are learning. A good number of kids can't even read the directions on the package. Sheez.

And I'd also be curious to see stats comparing religious schools vs. Public ones. And yes. We knnw they are also having sex. But my gut tells me they are raised to have BABIES after marriage. So is it the school or the family that has the biggest influence?

While true, the current method of teaching them about birth control may have caused greater harm given the trends in pre-marital sex.

"Safe sex" is nonexistent outside of lifelong monogamous partners. Neither my religion nor the sex "education" programs told me that. However the religious belief that lifelong monogamy is best is closer to reality than some false concept of "safe sex" without monogamy.
We don't know when, where or how we'll die, however it is immutable fact that humans have a 100 percent mortality rate. And to live in sterility and constant fear because of the diseases people carry is ridiculous.

I agree.

Contraceptives mostly prevent STDs and pregnancy. It's shortsighted to assume teenagers are going to be good little celibates; they need to know that vital information concerning safe sex.

True, including the actual safest option and without sugarcoating things by using the term "safe sex."

Hopefully the family, otherwise my kids are fucked!

It may be an issue of cause and effect.

There is no proof that knowledge of birth control is causing them to have more sex. There has been an overall increase of sexual activity in our society

It's not the knowledge of birth control, it's the manner in which is was presented - as in the bullshit line of "safe sex."

Where did I say they shouldn't? My point is that them knowing about it is not doing anything to lower the teen pregnancy rates. Do you have your head up your ass too?

I really do not believe that. I think people were just as promiscuous in the 1950s, or even the 1850s, as they are today. They just didn't talk about it as much.
