These type videos illustrate performance anxiety and little more (though they can be funny at times).

Anyway I did this extraordinarily complicated math problem once where the instructor said anyone who did it would get an automatic 100 for the semester. I was the only one that was even close to right and I screwed up in the very last line by adding instead of subtracting in my head. I wrote it right on the next to last line, but did the simple freaking third grade arithmetic wrong in my head damn it for the final line, thereby nuking the entire proof. I was so pissed at myself.

That was a very simple math question that 4 students of higher education could not answer

But ask them to demonstrate putting a condom on a cucumber and they would no doubt be able to do it easily

I would assume that anybody could easily put a condom on a cucumber.

Students aren't taught to memorize times tables these days. The skill has no value and that's not how they do math now. They have calculators and spread sheets to do math. I'll bet that girl can set up a spread sheet to do profit and loss.

You don't have to have your division and multiplication memorized to answer those questions. You just need to understand basic math.
