I love this song and was surprised they were so spiritual, or opened to it....

Show me the Way

Every night I say a prayer in the hope that there's a heaven
And every day I'm more confused as the saints turn into sinners
All the heroes and legends I knew as a child have fallen to idols of clay
And I feel this empty place inside so afraid that I've lost my faith

Show me the way, show me the way
Take me tonight to the river
And wash my illusions away
Show me the way

And as I slowly drift to sleep, for a moment dreams are sacred
I close my eyes and know theres peace in a world so filled with hatred
That I wake up each morning and turn on the news to find weve so far to go
And I keep on hoping for a sign, so afraid that I just wont know

Show me the way, show me the way
Take me tonight to the mountain
And take my confusion away

And if I see a light, should I believe
Tell me how will I know

Show me the way, show me the way
Take me tonight to the river
And wash my illusions away
Show me the way, show me the way
Give me the strength and the courage
To believe that Ill get there someday
Show me the way

Every night I say a prayer
In the hope that theres a heaven...

Ah yes, I saw Styx, Cheap Trick and oh gee, I forgot, some other band, maybe REO? Back in the 80's at the Circle Theater. We went to that instead of our Homecoming Dance!

Good Times.....................

CRYSTAL BALL

I used to like to walk the straight and narrow line
I used to think that everything was fine
Sometimes Id like to sit and gaze for days through sleepless dreams
All alone and trapped in time
All alone and trapped in time

I wonder what tomorrow has in mind for me
Or am I even in its mind at all
Perhaps Ill get a chance to look ahead and see
Soon as I find myself a crystal ball
Soon as I find myself a crystal ball

Tell me, tell me where Im going
I dont know where Ive been
Tell me, tell me, wont you tell me
And then tell me again
My heart is breaking, my bodys aching
And I dont know where to go
Tell me, tell me, wont you tell me
Ive just got to know

Crystal ball
Theres so many things I need to know
Crystal ball
Theres so many things Ive got to know
Crystal ball

[extra verse used occasionally live]
If you should see me walking
Through your dreams at night
Would you please direct me
Where I ought to be
Ive been looking for a crystal ball
To shed the light
To find a future in me...
To find a future in me...

Crystal ball
Theres so many things I need to know
Crystal ball
Theres so many things Ive got to know
Crystal ball

and of course this ones one of my Favorites as well

LADY

Lady, when youre with me Im smiling
Give me all your love
Your hands build me up when Im sinking
Just touch me and my troubles all fade
Lady, from the moment I saw you
Standing all alone
You gave all the love that I needed
So shy, like a child who has grown

Youre my lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear, and lovely
Youre my lady

Lady, turns me on when Im lonely
Show me all your charm
Evenings when she lays down beside me
Just take me gently into your arms

Your my lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear, and lovely
Youre my lady

Lady of the morning
Love shines in your eyes
Sparkling, clear, and lovely
Youre my ... lady

Now Styx... one of my FAVORITE bands that get s a bad rap by critics

Yes.. starting with Paradise Theatre, DeYoung started getting wayyyyyyy too pretentious.. but there WAS still quality music on there and Kilroy... unfortunately he is still so pretentious that it keeps him from a 4/5 reunion of the band.. .Young and Shaw want to have fun and rock and enjoy playing the oldies (while coming out with an occasional decent new song)

IMHO if you really want the best of Styx.. you have to go a bit beyond the popular, chart topping songs...

Snowblind
Suite Madame Blue (off Equinox, last album before Shaw as they were ridding themselves of the awful Curulewski)
Sing For The Day
Nothing Ever Goes As Planned

This is my favorite Styx song. Back in the 70s, my older sisters used to go to Styx concerts because they were so cheap. They were never really considered a technically proficient band. However, one time I heard them during a sound check (I'm a musician, BTW) and they were playing these incredibly complicated ELP songs verbatim. I was totally blown away. I learned then that Dennis DeYoung was an incredible keyboard player. Who knew? Ever since then, I had a newfound respect for Styx.
