Shots at Arafat mourning tent

Gaza City - Gunfire erupted on Sunday at the tent set up for mourners to gather in memory of Yasser Arafat at his headquarters, witnesses said.

The gunfire lasted several minutes, killing two members of the Palestinian security services.

The gunshots were heard around the time that Mahmoud Abbas, chosen as Arafat's successor as head of the PLO, was due to visit the site.

Abbas was taken to Palestinian headquarters after the shooting, witnesses said.

It was still unsure who the gunmen were.

And the peaceful transition begins. Wonder if they will go as ferociously at each other's throats as they do at the Israelis'. My guess is a big "yes". lad the wall is almost complete.
