A thought about "flippers" and "Independents"

Imdependents by definition are flippers. They stick their fingers in the wind to see which way it's blowing.

Did bucs90 leave in a huff? I haven't seen him much lately

I hope this country really looks at what BHO is doing to our great nation
The Dems need new leadership so bad
What's he 'doing' to our great nation....? Give specifics, without using a republican blog pretty please. Not hyperbole, not generalities such as "he's a marxist, a communist, a socialist, the antichrist, or he hates America crapola" but specifics on what he's "doing to America"....maybe if you could talk about specific things that Obama has done or caused we could have some decent debate around here...?

Obama's failed stimulus as well as grabbing the last 50% of tarp that GWB had no intent of using added 600 billion dollars to our baseline budget
The Dismal Science of Baseline Budgeting | Red County

His obama care double dipped medicare to claim 0 budget increase

So now we get to the crucial dispute. Obamacare counts the same Medicare savings twice - once to allegedly extend the solvency of Medicare, and again to pay for Obamacare's massive new subsidies for private health insurance through the exchanges.

we just hit 2009 numbers. I do not blame any politician for the wealth bubble
I do blame BHO for using the event as his chief of staff stated

JRK has trouble remember that the 1994 to 2006 GOP congresses with compliant presidents set the tragedy for the meltdown.

BHO is to blame because he has had the reins for almost four years, but he has no blame for the Republicans, Clinton, and Bush's criminal follies.

The American people have not forgotten or forgiven Bush.

Independents wobble to much for me
*laughs*

There is no independent party. It's a group of people, who vote for who they want regardless of what other people. If you want to be an independent all you got to do is think for yourself. lol

explain to me how any-one who cannot make up there minds in what they believe in thinks at all?
I mean do you believe in Abortion, or not?
That we should give criminals guns to make it look like we nee more gun control, or not
what about tax policy?
how about deficit spending?

LOL? I am the one laughing
the problem with the independents is they usually let NBC and CNN tell them how to vote, and in fear of being called a racist if they vote for the white guy
how is that any different then you being told what to do by the party you follow?....i dont see much of a difference.....

Core values drive my political opinions and how I vote

Tax policy and budgets as the 2007 GOP budget as one would compare to Obama adding 500 billion to the 09 budget and calling it an "inherited" deficit as well as the "new baseline" is as far as I need to go, not to mention no job growth sense the failed stimulus(s)
(Tarp was added also to the "new baseline" by BHO)
Senate vote fails, Obama gets $350B - Jan. 15, 2009

Independents wobble to much for me

do you want a tax policy that keeps me from paying a rate that my new ford truck and travel trailer never gets bought? ( the difference in my tax rate from 00 to 01 thru present)
GWB tax policy works, spending 3.6 trillion a year does not

do we feel that spending 5 trillion dollars more than we have is a direction that needs debating?
we have 0 job growth i those years from the failed stimulus and in reality from jan 25th 2009 (about to get there, just hang on)

Medicare
they need change

Romney and Ryan will bring that change

Um, I'm an independent and core values drive my voting. I vote by issue, idc about any certain party, I'm just interested in how they plan on governing.

he has helped to keep the divide of the Country that Bush started and has probably made it worse ......and he is just as shitty of a leader as Bush was......

Care ....the guy gets OBL his poll numbers go up and he gets some Moderate Republicans to go..."hey maybe there is something to this guy"......instead of using that opportunity to build a bridge or two.....he is out here a week later speaking to a bunch of Latinos and tells them Republicans are your Enemies.....thats called bad leadership and keeping the divide going....and your seeing stuff from the FAR Right......they will never be for the guy no matter what he does.....same thing with the FAR Left....they will never be for a Republican President.....but those of us on both sides who were willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt?......he has thrown many of those people to the "back of the bus".....i have given up on the guy.....i think here domestically,he is a weak leader.....the one thing i am giving him credit for is he aint afraid to confront terrorist....i wish he would be a little more "Manley" in his leadership here....but it dont seem to be happening.....so screw him.....

you either believe in a govt that is smaller and allows the free market the chance to hire and grow, or you do not
you support the choice an ins. makes on abortion, or not
hhas the democrats been honest?
do there policies promote job growth?
do you think the US should own GM?
does the UAW deserve more than a person who has worked his entire life as non-union?
is this what our tax dollars are to be used for?
un secured, billions of dollars foe a select few?
do you think that the federal govt has the right to mandate what you choose to buy or not?

No... But I don't think the state should have the right either. Willard believes that. *shrugs*

But I don't live in that state, so there isn't much I can say about it other than I think it's wrong. The federal government... Well... that is my problem too.

If size of government is your concern you'd vote Democrat. Republicans have expanded government by far more than Democrats in the past 40 years.

you support the choice an ins. makes on abortion, or not

Your candidate's health care plan required insurers to cover it.

do there policies promote job growth?

4.5M private sector jobs, to be exact. Infinitely higher than the most recent Republicans less-than-zero private sector job growth.

yeah... I dunno. Flipping and flopping between Romney and Obama just seems like a coin toss to me. Not sure what difference it really makes.

I kee[ reading these threads that the GOP expanded the size of govt
CONGRESS, not the president approves these budgets
so your DD and you will see your wrong

in 2007, the last GOP budget we were within 162 billion of a balanced budget
by 2009 it was 1.5 trillion
yes the wealth bubble had much to do with that
but it has just gotten worse

the GOP budgets from 94 through 07 were minimal
9-11
2 wars
it is not like there were not events as big as the bubble

do you think that the federal govt has the right to mandate what you choose to buy or not?

Right. That's why it's marginally insane to me to vote for Romney, the governor of the one state that has adopted a health insurance mandate, as the leader of the movement to repeal Obama's mandate. This election looks like a win-win for the corporatists. Unless a lot of voters wake up and stop voting Republocrat, which is most unlikely.

I keep reading these threads that the GOP expanded the size of govt
CONGRESS, not the president approves these budgets

Let me guess: You credit Reagan for the 1982 budget and the tax legislation that preceded it.

amiright?

in 2007, the last GOP budget we were within 162 billion of a balanced budget
by 2009 it was 1.5 trillion

Yes, after you account for the largest crash in federal revenues since WW2 (which happened under Bush's watch), the largest increase in spending for automatic stabilizers since WW2 (which started while Bush was in office) and the need to set aside 565B to bailout a collapsing financial system (created by Bush) and you build that on the back of two wholly unfunded wars, and a wholly unfunded Medicare Part D that constituted the largest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ you end up with deficits.

Since all spending originates in the House, you'd think the Republican-controlled house would have done something about it.

no child left behind
medicare D
The authorization of force in Iraq to enforce UN sanctions
3 stimulus in the form of tax rebates
Tarp
GM and Chrysler exist today because of GWB (tax payer)
we added Sarbanes Oxley to prevent the 1000s of Enron's we over came in 2001-02
We gave the largest tax break to the middle class in this countries history

These where all Bi partisan bills (legislation)

exactly what is it that GWB do to cause this divide?

Letterman calls Palin a whore
Bill M hates so much I cannot understand why any-one would watch him
the Dem party sends so many lawyers to Alaska a Governor with a 90% approval rating is forced to retire
The health care bill is forced upon the american people, they answer in the 2010 mid terms
Harry Reid states on the floor of the senate the war in Iraq is lost and GWB is to blame
There are claims that seal team 5 (or 7) are in fact the Bushes admin assassination squad
Obama still blames the GOP for the wealth bubble in 2008, when in fact the GOP has not been in power since 2006

you want to explain to us why GWB started this divide when with the exception of the 2009 budget that we had bi-partisan approvals until then?
